Ok, got the check files to work now its breaking on the D:file.txt I vaguely remember having problems with this in the last update, cant recall how it was fixed though. Anyone recall?
When my download finishes I'll immediately host the rar.

Finished downloading and manually replacing files from the patch.
Now can't even get through POL long enough to have my files checked.
Yay for POL Error 1160.
Gotta love the help text.
Yeah, like it's my cables and ***causing the problem.
Do other MMORPG's have this issue EVERY time they update their games? Or are S-E's FFXI servers just "special"?

Thanks to everyone I navigated the challenge presented by manually updating.
Now I'm just dealing with server congestion upon attempting to file check.
Yet, 3x now I've gotten past check version. It'll DL update details. It does a file check. And it's this next step where I crash out....
POL-1160 error right as it's attempting to patch D:sound/win/music/data/music046.bgw
I don't have a D drive. WTF is going on... :/

Still had 182 files left to download after doing the manual download from BG thread. Not sure why.
It's still better than trying to download thousands of files via POL.
But I don't know why I have 182 files left to download and others have like, 7, or 14 files.
Oh well, hopefully this works in the end.

i am at 5 files, but i am receiving POL Error 1160 everytime i tried. ; ;

SE's servers are just special. Other games have an update/maintenance once a week, and it doesn't take 10hours to update.

I wonder why S-E chooses to do it this way then ... since it's been proven time, and time, and time again to be a horribly flawed process.
I downloaded the .ZIP and then merged the files and folders with the patch into the install. Nothing screwed up, but for some reason I still have to download the patch when I get into the game (and, of course, that keeps screwing up mid-download with the same errors I was getting before).
is anyone stuck at downloading ffximain.dll at 98% and files remaining at 2/5 at 97%?

If anyone can give us FFXIMain.dll and whatever is after that, I'll host it.
I wondered if closing it down and trying again would make it work but nope, it won't even file check now before server lag kicks in.

Downloaded the files directly, copied. checked and up and running. Got the Mog Sack already too, but a warning to those who use UI mods such as XIview and XIvision:
It seems they goof up the Mog House menus. Everything from Delivery Box and below has moved down a slot (I'm assuming because of the addition of the Mog Sack) so things aren't labeled correctly, plus the slot that was actually supposed to be added is not there, so I'm assuming you lose the option to "Open Mog."
Just thought I'd give a heads up.
