I was bored and tracked down (one of) my hat...

If I was actually working in it my hair would be tied back and inside the hat but I'm too lazy for that atm.

What's your routine look like, Lye?

Nothing special. It's pretty similar to the one that my old body building coach gave me about 8 years ago. I train 5 days a week, never more than 45 minutes if lifting. Isolated muscle groups with slow reps and solid form. I keep my entire body loose but immobile except for the muscle group I'm working in order to simplify any descending pathways.

The only notable things would be that I don't use any protein or supplements (aside from that in food) and when I noticed serious gains/improvement, it was always the result of more rest or better form.

You're in pretty solid shape, so you seem to be "doing it right." I always tell people the following though:

"If you can't devote 8-9 hours a day to quality sleep, and 1-2 hours a day to quality meals, don't bother buying protein powder/bars/supplements or killing yourself in the gym. AND never be afraid of getting too big and muscly because it NEVER happens by accident...."

I'm lazy. As long as I don't eat out, it's usually a matter of portion.

When I say "quality meals," to me it just means I didn't buy it and eat/heat it up.

If you're a better cook then you can probably make fried chicken from scratch and still have stuck by my standard. The truth is that I'm a terrible cook so the above forces me to pay attention to anything I make and stick to simple things.

As to portion, my reasoning is 1 plate that has some carb, protein, and vegetables. I want to be hungry again in 4-6 hours so no second plates.

Again, what works for me may/may not work for anyone else. I'm inclined to believe that if you consider it a diet, it won't work for you. So you have to find what works for you.

There is a cyclical relationship for me.

Go to the Gym ====> Feel Good =====> Eat things that make me feel good about the time I spend in the gym ====> Feel good ====> Go to the Gym.

I think it all starts in the gym though. Without that, I can't get in a good pattern at all.

In my case, the benefits for my body pale in comparison to what it does for my mood. If I skip the gym, I get topic banned around here....
