Weapons {Can I Have It?}

Ok, so, as you may or may not know, WAR can use tons of different types of weapons. I have most of them fairly skilled up. The thing is, I am looking for some good weapons to wear when doing stuff (aka I don't want to hit things with a warp cudgel or a treat staff.) Can you give me some good recommendations of weapons that WAR can wield that are fairly easily obtainable/not terribly expensive.

Looking for good H2H, Dagger, Sword, Great Sword, Scythe, Polearm, Club, and Staff. If you know even just one of these, {please assist}. ^^

@ 85 you should prob look into GA Trial of the Magian, which path you choose should reflect your play style/gear. If you want more str, go fire elemental route, if you lack acc go the thunder route. Personally I wouldn't really concern myself with anything outside of B~A+ rankings, and even at that stick with something WAR has full access to the best WS's like KJ/RR and single handed axes if you like using those.

Personally I've given up on pretty much any form of craft-able weapon since trial weapons are free, and are a step (or 2) above them at this point. If you have abyssea, try to arrange a run to get a weapon from NM, I picked up Magnus Scythe and dmg seems to be quite decent, I'd imagine GA should be similar and NM's aren't really too hard if you read wiki's strats...

I already have GAxe and axe done. The reason I asked is because I can't do a ToM for those other weapons. :/

Also, those abyssea weapons don't really include WAR either...

As far as they abyssea weapons go, I more or less meant stick with GA or Axe.

Honestly if you're really looking to utilize the other weapons you prob gonna have to resort to older KSNM weapons like Destroyers and the like, there are few newer weapons that war can use like Quint Spear but other than that, pretty you looking at older gear unless you can get into a group to get weapons like Afflictors, Valhalla or the like. But you did say relatively easy, which is kinda defined by each person.

Dagger: Blau Dolch
Sword: Joyeuse

For !! Procs I would use these, or the former which I've added.

Staff:Wyvern Perch
Club: Brass Jadagna/+1
Scythe: Baha. Zag/Perdu Sickle/Bounty Sickle/gleaming Zag
Polearm:Quint Spear/I.R. Lance/Engetsuto
Sword: Hannibal's Sword/Firmament/Joyeuse
Dagger:Jambiya/Blau Dolch
H2H: Wagh Baghnakhs

Any ideas on a GS? I like being fully prepared.

Um.. I guess this is sort of easy. Magnus Claymore, it sucks so bad for DRK that nobody would want it lol. FFA that if you can. Ferrara off ZNMs. but every WAR usable Gsword is expensive and not worth the cost.

A mythril claymore would work well. >_>

He wanted something higher DMG and Higher level then that.

Could unlock a Subduer. Can't be assed to look if WAR can use that ZNM Greatsword.

You can obtain northlands rather easily with a group of 12 or less

And by the time we are 99, definitely less.
But by then what people would possibly want from Fiat Lux may have lost more terrain? :(

Edit: to stay on topic, considering at the moment all of FFXI is Abyssea related, you may want to work on some of the weapons that drop 100% in there, most of which are tossed by people.

H2H: afflictors Althought they are not reported as 100%, considering Carabosse is a relevant NM for many ToM trials, it shouldn't be hard to find a group fighting it and possibly get the drop if tey're not interested.

Dagger: Probably your best shot for WAR is still a blau dolch

Sword: Hannibal's sword is a 100% drop off Cirein-Croin.

GS: khloros blade drops off Lusca, not 100% but still, since many ppl are still working on AF3, they're likely to fight it sometime.

Axe and GA: Skipping these

Scythe: bounty sickle maybe? Whatever you can find cheap on AH really thought.

Polearm: quint spear is great for cycling through WSs to trigger !!s. Otherwise stick to engetsuto or gondo-shizunori

Clubs: Item Not Found! or Titan's cudgel, the 2nd being extremely easy to get.

Staves: eh...

I use low damage weapons when trying to stagger lol. My onion staff Consistently hits for 1-6, crits up to 11 (throwing out random numbers, but it's close to that). I hardly ever have issues hitting 0s.

Afflictors are total ***. You're (almost?) better off with no weapon on. Use Destroyers or just fight barehanded and save yourself an inventory slot.

I picked up a Lockheart for GS XD And Senior Musketeers's Zagnahl for Scythe.

Still using Warp sticks for Club and I have a Zen Pole for staff (was no Wyvern perch's on ; ;)

You can kill the ***with a real weapon. You can't proc !! if it's already dead.

All depends on the nm, bro.

So you're weapon skilling on the NM with a high damage weapon, and it dies quicker, giving you less chances to proc !!. Rocket science.

H2H: I don't know but Destryoers would work.
Dagger: Blau Dolch
Sword: Joytoy
GS: Mercurial, Expensive but nice for TP gain.
Scythe: Perdu. I can finally use it again.
Polearm: Engetsuto,Quint expensive but makes getting TP so much faster.
Club: Basically anything
Staff: Anything that you already have.

All you need is a Great Axe

Because Great Axe Procs all other !!'s Unless It's Blue Slashing -.-
