The game is a pretty spectacular driving sim but there are some problems. The AI is HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE, the standard cars don't even belong in the game so GT5 has more like 200 cars instead of 1031, the engine sounds are hit or miss (mostly miss), the game barely makes use of it's day/night/weather system in the majority of the races, and there's probably some other nitpicking I'm not remembering at the moment. I don't regret the purchase at all though, it's definitely a solid game overall.

I wouldn't call it HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE I've had some pretty closes races when I'm in a car that doesn't have a obvious advantage. It seems to be about the same as GT4, which is just overly cautious.
HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE is better then overly aggressive though, the AI could easily push any car to the limit and make it impossible to win.
I really like the new option that lets you paint your car any color you want (granted you have the paint chip for it).

I really like it but the comp defenitly cheats. They can run me of the road but if i touch them i'm disqualifed.
when's it come out? I haven't played one since 3, and I need more ps3 games.
I'm assuming it's out now seeing that people are giving their own reviews about it, and pirating PS3/Xbox games are fairly difficult.

I enjoyed the hell out of GT2. I haven't played any since, but I had 100s of hours on GT2.

word, I may have to get it soon, and it's easy to copy games, getting the system to accept them is another issue.

I can't believe this game is out and I didn't know about it. I'm pumped to go get it, time to bust out some old school GT1 to feed my buzz xD.

I've got no experience with the PS3 yet though, I updated mine to 3.50, so I can't jailbreak it, until I buy another one. Homebrew is win though.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
The AI isn't all the intelligent is what Avelle probably meant, they can be incredibly aggressive at times, even to the point where they ram you so you spin and continue to accelerate while you're in a T position to make sure the job is done.
GT5 is PS3 ONRY
I hate when they do that but it hasn't happened that often and I've never spun out from it. I dunno if that's lack of intelligence though or just the AI playing unfair >.<

Anyone compete in GT5 Academy?
No but one of my racing friends came 2nd in the NA GT academy (apparently).

Yea that car is just insane, and there's 3 of them to unlock!
No lie, for about 95% of that lap it's full throttle. Nothing can prepare you for the speed it generates, not even any of the F1 cars available.
