I think its more that FFXI and WoW have some kind of rivarly going on. Its always going to have the eternal arguement of which is better? FFXI doesnt have another rival, so any other game is free to be discussed, but with the contrast between WoW and FFXI comes up, its always gunna be flame wars.

Meh, I don't get all of the instant hate/rivalry either. WoW looks pretty good! I've tried to get into it a couple of times but just haven't managed to; doesn't mean it's a bad game, just not my cup of tea personally (granted was low levels etc so hardly a fair representation).

WoW's biggest problem is no Mithra :(

Dont get me wrong, i think wow is ***and looks disgusting and the cluster *** of menus and stuff on the screen is horrid. But, FFXI vs WoW is one arguement that can never die lol. WoW makes more money, its easier, FFXI makes less money, its more complicated, WoW looks like it can be played on an N64, FFXI has decent graphics. Both have pros and cons. But I just could never play WoW, I know graphics dont mean anything when it comes to gameplay, but i just couldnt sit and look at WoWs graphics. They hurt my eyes >.> Also, no Dragoons or Tarus.

I'm just suprised at the amount of nerdrage some people hold over this thread and screenshots from other games, how they feel a need to "white knight" FFXI because they think all other games are inferior to the master FFXI race, and rating down peoples posts here is applying divine justice upon them, even though the fact is, rating down does nothing lol.

If WoW isn't your kind of game, then why waste your own time commenting on how horrible you think it is, or doing "rate downs of justice." At the end of the day, the people that enjoy WoW don't care about your opinion and it won't stop them playing a game they enjoy.

On topic, I personally don't like the way WoW looks, and i'm too far into FFXI to start a new MMO before XIV comes out for PS3, which im looking forward to.

MMORPG's are for no lifers yo, I wouldn't dare grind the ***out of a character and pay for it. Especially one that doesn't have Master Chief anywhere in it.

When I played WoW I played on US server (Can't remember the name now). I bought it off WoW's website, and gave an US adress.

I've always lived by mouth of word of it being a horrible game, so obviously when my friend started to talk to me about it and recruit me (i've mentioned to him quite a few times about my displeasure with XIV in it's current state) so obviously I was a bit weary when I was purchasing the game and setting up my account.

Now that I have had a few days of gameplay under my belt and almost at level 20, I can say this: Don't believe what people say the game in it's state that it is right now is good.

Sure it may not be as comprehensive as XI, or be a top of the line graphics, but arguably the most important thing about the game is are you going to have fun and is it worth the money to you?

It also helps to play an MMO when you have RL friends to play with and interact with.

You can change the realmlist to US servers can't you? The same was you get onto a private server.

Btw I wasn't bashing on Tuvae or anyone else with similar posts, I was referring to the people who just straight up "WoW SUCKS LOLOLOLOL"

I found WoW entertaining tbh. But I pretty much played it as a single game lol. Kept to myself mostly. Made alot of money off mining/skinning :D

iirc I got to lv 70 Druid or something like that.

What I disliked the most was how much I had to use the mouse, and I never found a way to make macro's (can you even make macro in WoW?)

The part I have outlined, basically inputting the item so it shows it's stats or what it is when you click on it.

How do I do that? would be nice to be able to do that lol.

And yeah, I was trolling clearly in the Screenshot section, and it worked lol, because people are far too easy to annoy these days, but at the end of the day, I want to play WoW, I'll play WoW lol, you want to play FFXI, play FFXI.

Yes, this is a FFXI website, but 2 reasons why I'll continue to post here (mainly in Ni) is because I enjoy talking to most of this site's users, regardless of how you may treat me, you can always block me, or just not click on Screenshots if you know you aren't going to like the content of the page that is going to load.

In short, I'm not trolling you, you are trolling yourself.

And, to the FFXI Players who seem to rage about every other game;

Get the hell over yourselves. Name any website out there that is devoted to FFXI, and just FFXI... Isn't many out there that haven't atleast embraced other games, is there? BG is the first one to come to mind, they actually have a WoW section, even though it has FFXI roots as a site. We aren't going to grow as people, or as a community of MMO players if we refuse to accept that people are going to play other games in the genre.

Now, I'm done ranting, I'm going to carry on leveling my troll. =P

Shift + Click on the Item in your Inventory when you are typing. Works for other things too, like Achievements. ^^

During one of my FFXI breaks, I downloaded the WoW trial. Played an Alliance character and a Horde character. The 1-20 leveling experience in WoW is a helluva lot more fun than what FFXI offers. The graphics style isn't as bad a people say either. I liked it.

While FFXI isn't a bastion of enlightened /shout conversations itself, the conversations in WoW's general and trade channels (is that right? haven't played in a long time) were positively dreadful. Especially in major cities and the Barrens. That more than anything turned me off to the game.

While I really enjoyed WoW, I ultimately came back to FFXI because of friends. And I was hooked on the WoTG Story That Never Ends. My Night Elf Hunter and FeebleFace the saber-tooth tiger were awesome (I know...lolNight Elf Hunters), but I'd miss my Mithra too much. :(

Tbh, what pulled me in is that Blizzard listen to their players, and will actually have fun with them in the form of references and stuff, opposed to SE that generally ignored the playerbase for *** years, and I just sat down and took it like a *** for so many years.. After the failure that was FFXIV, I said enough was enough lol.
