Then - Teal Body

I got more damage out of Teal Body than Genie Weskit as Elvaan BLM (admittedly it's only ~10, but still)

My Results were on TaruTaru BLM, with 5/5 INT merits, and Using a fully merited thunder potency (Thunder IV/Burst II), and non-merited Aero for Aero V.

Hmm, mine was 0/5 INT merited Freeze2/Blizz4 Burst2/Thunder4 with 5/5 potency for both.

Could be the difference in INT helping Weskits extra MAB push ahead. As 85BLM with 2 INT merits, I have 77 base INT (I guess taru with 5/5 has close to 90? XD I know at 75 a Taru with 0 INT merits had 9 INT more than me ; ;)

Best way to quick check is just figure out what with your gear how much int is equivalent to 1 MAB for a certain spell.

Best way to do that is using a modifidied version of the dmg formula:

Xint = (V+M*dint)/(M*MAB*100)

mob int would have to be approximated but small amounts don't change the ratio that much. And MAB is total. So like 36 from trait +10 from merits would be 1.46.

I think my base INT is 90, might even be higher. I know it starts with a 9.

Yeah, that link seems to work out like my results did, the higher tier V's and AM II are slightly better with weskit.

Tested as Mithra BLM 85, freeze5/5 and burst 5/5, 0/5 int.

For outside abyssea:
Teal > Genie / Morgana (just because of the negative Macc)

Aero V has a different formula than Water V, and, Stone V, if it follows the pattern, it would match what I was seeing, and Burst II it shows genie ahead of teal.

Highly depends on how much MAB you have to and to a lesser extent dint not just tier. Hence why I use my modified formula

Even if Saio beats my nukes though it barly noticble acording to the numbers mentioned above - I won't use it. Too damn ugly to wear!

Wouldn't really criticize anyone for using teal body either though. Considering that it's extremely cheap too. Now if they were using Iqgira Weskit... (no augments etc.)

From my testing in Abyssea Tahrongi against Mandies and Mandy NM's, with over 170 INT... the difference was never ever more than 7 points on nukes over 2000 on Blizzard IV, Freeze II and Blizzaga III with full BLM merits. Between Igqira and Teal body.

7/2000 = 0.0035% at the very very MOST.

The difference is so absolutely minimal that it truly doesn't matter in Abyssea. Just wear what you want to look at. I'm sure Lakshmi.Toioiz is right, but the difference isn't worth further study. Unless your epeen is in some form of needing comfort... then do what you always do.

Stuff like differences in -enmity so you can cast more in other gear slots will actually make a much larger difference in your total damage in this case. The guy who squeezes in one extra T1 nuke would win on a parse even on a longer fight.

My personal vote is to use Igqira/Genie if you can spare the room. Might as well have the mob be Cursed from hitting you. It's not going to help on a parse, but it might help you in the fight.

I Sold both after finally getting macha coat, 4years and 3months of salvage since august 2006! :D Saves me an inv space shame I held onto ingots for at least 18months prior instead of buying when I needed, lost like 8mil per stack (got hikazu hara ate week before also).

I cant speak for abyssea testing with minkin atma and int buff, I have them but dont own weskit or saio anymore. However Id assume it would just push genie equal or 1-5dmg higher than teal on tier 3-5 and it already beats teal on aga3 and am2. So tier 1-3 gap would be a difference of 1-5dmg in favour of teal saio and anything higher will grow in favour of weskit. Remember this is just abyssea so teal despite being ugly if you want your max dmg 7k gil isnt bad for a piece which adds generally 1-7dmg to tier 1-5 over genie weskit outside of abyssea.

Gotta love curse procs on a mob before youve started to deal dmg to it, mine I find usually proc from tiara/lappas though either because im trying to enfeeble something hitting me or im in idle build, dont find myself getting hit in a weskit. Just remembered that other thread where I posted as Basilo still, some info is there it is very much as dasva says dependant on your int/mab totals and your enemy, my results are there as Dasva says it is dependant on your gear/int but mines pretty common stuff unless you are in abyssea you would probably end up with similar figures.

The update is in December and with that the AF3 body will be coming out. Just use teal for a month and sell your genie now before the price plummets on it. You do a little less damage but you have some gil in your pocket to make up for it

Why would you wear it for anything other than when the nuke goes off?

Iddle in Dalmy, AF2 body, Morri or Pluviale~
