I'm confused. Why are people talking about averages when it was originally asked what the max is?

-sigh- I was commenting that 6k was very rare, as was 0 dmg. Since when is this a Q and A? Threads grow based upon replies. I was simply offering more information; that Evisceration can do a lot, as can any ws, but it usually won't do that much.

Truthfully as well, it is possible to come close at least to the 6k mark on average with a fully stacked evis.

Considering its a direct weapon dmg increase, i'd say its applied b4 fTP. I'm not certain tho.

Average is relative to what you're fighting. All this continous talk about average WS doesn't mean anything unless you say what mob you're fighting. After I replied to Alukat's about min-max damage, I then replied to Khimaira's statement about how Evis isn't 6k strong/happens once in a brew moon. Since he didn't specify mob and simply gave a blanket statement, I chose a mob that was weak enough to hit that kind of number regularly to prove him wrong. You shouldn't try to take what I said in one situation and try to show that I contradicted myself by applying it to a different situation. There are two points being passed around here, not just one.

Does that help you understand what's going on.

IMO, when talking about an 'average', i would personally be refering to a mob that neither resists nor is weak to the damage type in question.

Seriously, someone asked a question, an answer was given. I provided relevant (and accurate) information to go with it. It was a general statement yes. But it was a general question too, along the lines of "what kind of dmg does evisceration do", however I'm not terribly inclined to go back and quote.

I've hit 6k on Coastal Colibri once, no brew of course. I think I'll count that as max, keep in mind I said MAX, not average. Also no brew, needed to repeat that part incase you didn't read it the first time.

No one said 6k was impossible. When it was posted, that max was accepted, to dispute it would be moot. Being said, the world, and arguments in it, don't fit a template. You can't expect a conversation to follow a set course, and only a set course. Sure he only asked min-max, but does it hurt to state the painful truth, that even on Piercing weak mobs, 6k is not average? No.

7002 rudras storm on detector in ule range abyssea (highest so far)
4-6k on dolls in altepa (so stop whiffing over evisceration and get rudras.....)

yes evisceration has hit 6k on colibiri, detectors and gears but they are weak to piercing (and this is the only reason I did 7k with rudras). On dolls in altepa im sure I spiked 5.5k a couple of times but as an average it was around 3.5-4k on evisceration.

Any one who says they average higher than this imo is lying.

refering to "lack-luster" thfs in above quote expect 3k max dmg or some crap if your gear is poor maybe less than this....

because they use their brain and u don't.
started with mandau 1 year before level cap increase was announced.
and after 1 year was halway done (should i stop just because of an announcement? :x).also rl and prioritys changed (yeah ffxi is not the most important thing in life).
and there are facts u don't even consider (yeah u should start to use your brain) before u talk.

-like if u can play only approx. 35 hours per week because of rl circumstances
-time used to help ls mates/friends
-avaibility of ppl to kill NM's and to proc (whm + thf duo has only good chances to proc grellow on light/darkday, and yes i love low manning)
-Competition on NMs (example: 30 peeps at fafnir,needless to say the chance to win as legit player vs. botter/s)
-respawn times (a.e.:fafnir 21-24hours with occ. nidhogg after 3 days,needless to say that faffy window is on our server when i can't play)
-pop sets which have to be farmed
-the time it takes to upgrade Mandau and to do other trials
-the time for other stuff (atmas / abyssites / zone clears)
-if items are in ah.
-time wasted if u run to a NM and someone is fighting it

well this are things which effect if a person can gear or not.
i finished mandau 85 last night.
and had mandau 80 finished mid february.
so now consider all the above things and tell me is it possible to get the best stuff (for 4 jobs) + atmas + abyssites + zone clears within 140 hours?

all u see is a picture of a moment and not how the above things worked as system and now use your brain and stop your braindead trolls, thx.

are spectators really weak to piercing? to me it just seems like they're really weak; my numbers with blade: hi are higher on them than other mobs as well.

guess it would help if thf's here start to post the JA's / Atmas they used when posting here.
so ppl which are up to level the job can get some good infos.
there's a difference between if u used conspirator (for hit 2&3 on AC) + food + SATA + AC + HIDE + Dia on the mob + brd songs + cor rolls + warcry (from pt member) + boost (sub mnk),please forgive me if don't listed all possible buffs, and SA used only ;), so we don't know ^^

Rapparee Harness has existed since god knows when and would be a huge improvement to your TP set. Get a better dagger than Rapidus too. Qirmiz Tathlum or Raider's Boomerang, Atheling Mantle (100% drop), Twilight Belt isn't bad to get, Tiercel/Agasaya's Necklace, Epona's/Heed Ring, Ballerines (100% drop)/Homam ... etc.
