From the website http://squallsdead.com/. It's basically saying that Squall could have died when the big ice shard impaled him through his chest and that the rest of the game is him having some death dream or life flashing before his eyes. I read somewhere else that time compression was Squalls fault. But I've not played it in a while so I can't remember.

I think I THINK he has a chance to kill sorceress Edea when Ultimecia visits the orphanage along with adult Squall through a time warp or something (Ultimecia is mortally wounded and tranfers her power to Edea who she will later posess, likely to be after you defeat Ultimecia in the final battle), when Squall himself is at the orphanage with Ellone as children after Raine dies during his birth. All this time compression and time warp stuff is hard to get your head round :/

It was never Squall's fault, he just had a chance to prevent it had he known what would happen, or something.

I don't have a PS3 and the PSX emulators I've used on PC have lag, its a much better experience on the PS2. I'm not going to download FFVIII for PC when I own the PS1 version.
