Wired Xbox Controller Wont Work Ingame

i downloaded the drivers from the microsoft website however its still not working, the controller is plugged in and is on it just doesnt work for ffxi. Can anyone tell me what im not doing right? ._.

Did you configure it in the FFXI Config?

Start > Programs > POL > FFXI > FFXI Config > Gamepads > Tick enable gamepad > Configure each button > Save

Triggers won't work, you have to use the shoulder buttons.

theres something you can download to make them work i just dont know what it is

I've used an xbox controller for over 2 years now on FFXI and have just always used the shoulder buttons, I got used to it pretty quickly.

If there is an app for making the triggers work i'm sure someone will post a link to it soon ^^

The last time I used the steps was back in 2009 so I dunno if it'll still work, but it worked back then, so give it a go.

That's a custom driver which replaces MS one as I replied to the OP's other thread regarding the controller install. Thanks for the link as I'll save it for myself in case I need to use the XBOX360 controller.

If your still running on windows XP you can download the free copy of xpadder from "http://www.soft82.com/download/windows/xpadder/" just click the download link next to the green arrow and then click on mirror 1 to start downloading it. If your using windows 7 your going to have to buy it from the main website for about $10 at "http://www.xpadder.com/". It's a full keyboard and mouse emulator so you don't have to mess around with any of the game settings to use it plus you can use it outside the game to surf the web with your controller. It's its a super small program that doesn't need any installing to use it just download and open it up set the controls the way you like and it sits down in the bottom right side of your screen you will never know its there.
