Lip piercing do effect it to an extent, they even can effect speech technically.
But you are correct in regards to how much tongue piercings work out, cept it works out better when teh ladies have em for me.

technically you could be an effective clit commander with a tongue piercing being a male though.

meh i think it's the girl not the tongue, i've had bad head multiple times from a girl with a piercing and have wonderful omg head from women with out it.. IMO it's kind of one of those things that got hyped up.. that or it was just that girl in my experience. You would think (I guess the misconception is) girls with piercings would be more into doing it and would in turn be better at it maybe it's generally the case but it wasn't for me.. and trust me bad head is pretty much worse than no head :(

well no longer a problem for me so i dont have to worry about it

Also since we're getting personal.. The real solution was like vinvv said get to pounding but in those times I felt like getting head would just wait til last second pull out insert mouth to finish. No it wasn't as good as straight good head but it was a step up from just normal pulling out and required little to no effort to that lazy lay of an ex.
