I picked up my copy yesterday and I was telling my friend that it is excessively vulgar. (not exactly the words I used) Sometimes it feels like they're dropping F bombs for no reason other than because they can. Sometimes it feels very out of place and not needed. Edit: Speaking game play though, the game is far from "bad". I personally feel like they took out too much hack and slash and puzzles for the Angel/Demon grabbing (or boosting) sections. It sort of takes away the feeling of the previous DMC games but still a fun game IMO. he looked hotter the other way ; ;
I must say, the game looks legitimately fun, and is very loose and free flowing which I like.
As far as the general direction taken for the reboot goes, I'm somewhat on the fence. I love the extensive and chaotic nature of the environments and the general mucked up intensity of it rather than what can for comparison's sake would have been relatively clean and cliche. This breaks the barriers, as necessary for a reboot as not to insinuate them being on the same platform or playing field; which is fair. However, it comes at a cost of blatant over-saturation of raunchiness and childish tongue and cheek gags and flashiness that to some degree can be counter intuitive. Because it is a thin line riding between stark contrast and independence from the game's older franchise vision and becoming an obvious fan service. So everything looks and feels fantastic as far as I can tell; but I'm iffy on the level of execution and presentation. Apologies if this didn't make much sense to you readers, but allegory is a *** to articulate. Especially at 7:30 AM without any sleep or coffee. But in general: style, art, general vision and direction and (seemingly) loose gameplay/combat gets a thumbs up. The excessive gaudiness of mature elements and unwarranted "flash" are an unfortunate side effect and consequence of the end product. Everything has its compromise I suppose. Played fully finished on DMD mode.
It's a good game, still hated the changed character design, personality changes, and I didn't care for the electric music outside of that dance club level, but a good fun game none the less. I do agree with it being vulger,but that fits to the new "punk" attitude I guess. The biggest flaw with the actual game is that the camera is annoying when trying to do mid air combos and the lack of a manual target lock on. YouTube Video Placeholder soooooooooooooooo many combos
