This game isnt out yet? I completely forgot about this...I guess I assumed it came out and nobody bought it...I guess they took some criticisms and changed things..like...new Dante looks like he ate a hamburger and went to a better barber. Thank goodness.
I like old Dante because he kind of had that cool Spike Spiegel-ness about him. But I had problems with the older games too...

I'm pretty sure that they confirmed that this is a "new" Dante...which actually makes me want to play it less. Would have been cool to see more of a transition from emo looking teen to wisecracking badass. Also would have liked to see a young Vergil and how they're rivalry started.... but no we will get none of that...

looks like they are pulling the whole "your world is not real" angle a little bit too literally. They might be moving towards white hair dante being the "real" world and black haired dante being "fake"? Thats what im taking from it atleast.

Idk where this happens in the series, but it -looks- like a prequel. I can see that being a very very young Dante. Teens maybe (16-19ish), whereas in the original DMC he's in his late 20's maybe. Virgil looks younger too.

Well 3 was a prequel to 1 showing virigls story and what he came to be and how Nero ends up with his Katana in 4. Timeline of games goes 3>1>4>2 I believe. So that would make this a prequel to 3 which was a prequel to 1.

3 is definitely a prequel to 1 because at the end when virigl is in the underworld he speaks to mundus (final boss of 1)
Also I believe I read somewhere once that the knight you fight in DNC 1 Nelo Angelo has Vergil's soul inside of it.

also if you still don't believe that 3 is a prequel, in the beginning of 3 Dante doesn't have his Devil Trigger yet, gets it like 2-3 stages in, and you have it at the start of DmC 1

I am Excited about Vergil but I hate the new persona's myself. Neither of them strike me as Dante or Vergil not in looks or personality. Added capcom's streak lately of firing/losing everyone who helped make them what they are I'm concerned.
But with that all being said we got to give it a try right. Just because its not what we expect or perhaps what we want to be it might turn out to be a decent game... ... though I still miss Vergil's old voice so much better imo. Just have to wait and see.

Also it could be way worse, it could be DmC 2 Dante...
and I'm sure the game will be fine, it's in the hands of some good devs, hell play 'Enslaved' thats what they can do on a tightwad budget.

Trailer says 1/15/2013 right on it at the end there. Anyways it looks neat. With an open mind it looks like it could be enjoyable.
