Lol, I really don't see how this dante looks any more gay than the old one. Both have heavily metro sexual features.
Besides all of that I'm about %99.9 sure this is supposed to be a prequel, could be that was how he looked at X age.
Bottom line is, young dante looks just as gay as older dante, the difference is muscle mass, cry more.
Edit: HOWEVER, forgot to mention, the director does deserve a swift kick in the balls for this. Obviously (as expressed above) I have no problem with the new (or should I say old) look of dante, but to put yourself into the game? TOOOOOOOOOOOOL!

the trailer looked pretty cool to me but dang, he looks like a hobo emo meth addict minus the scabs.
but at the same time, we played the other DMCs and they were cheesey as all get out, the only reason why I continued to watch was because Dante was pretty.

100% disagree. Real Dante is very stylish; this one is just a thug. I don't think this Dante looks gay but he does look like a complete ***.

E3 work in progress game trailer came out a few days ago
now im as skeptical about the new dante as everyone else(hate the way they changed his look), BUT if you look at this trailer, while hes fighting his hair turns white for a bit, im thinking this new dmc is gona be like a prequel or prolly its own series , and its gona explain how he gets his hair white eventually.
Also the story reminds me a bit of suckerpunch(hope capcom does a better job then the movie) In the older trailer it showed that he was being tortured, I think that this guy isnt the real dante, just forced to think that he is, also at the beginning of this trailer everything is normal, then it turns to weirdshit.
So in conclusion your guess on the story is as good as mine, but i think its gona be something like this guy is just crazy and is being forced to think like the other dante, kinda like a mix between assassins creed and suckerpunch.
Hell im blowing this way out of proportion, trying to come up with a complex storyline for a game like dmc is kinda dumb imo...,but anyways, Im gona give this game a chance, ill prolly buy it when it comes out.

As much as the new look is a bit weird i'm sure there will be some story as to why.
I for one cannot wait for it, been a fan of the DMC series and won't let some stupid "OMG HE LOOKS DIFFERENT" attitude change my mind, if the gameplay and story are solid then I could care less about how he looks.

The original design reminded me a lot of Edward but I'm glad they changed it a bit. I'm sure all the team Jacob fans are excited.

The gameplay looks great and looks like the story may be plausible.
This is capcom, so something you need to keep in mind is the developers of the IP's that we know and love have all essentially left this company.
This said this game is being made by different people, they aren't going to want to make the same kind of DMC, and you wouldn't want them to because they wouldn't do it right.
Either play the game or don't.

The biggest mistake they made was trying to pass that off as Dante, they should have said it was a relation of his (son, cousin etc)

Also would have liked to see a young Vergil and how they're rivalry started.... but no we will get none of that...
