This is a game/culture that requires group participation to do a lot of things. It really isn't too much to ask to make a statement such as "I'm exhausted, I'm sorry" or "my family needs me for something important, I need to log off", or "I'm bored and I'm gonna find something else to do", or even "this party is inadequate and I'm outta here. Bye-bye". Just type that and then /shutdown. If you can't be bothered to do that, or don't consider other players worthy of such formalities, then you should seriously question whether you should be involved in an MMO ... a single-player game is probably better suited to your needs.
