Redo Divine Might? Which ToAU Ring?

I need advice on a few issues, I have a Suppanomimi earring because at the time of the pick, I was WHM and couldn't figure out which earring to choose. Someone said to pick Suppanomimi because it will be good for any job that subs NIN. Considering so many jobs have to sub nin, I went with that. Now that I'm lvling PLD, I am thinking of switching to Knight earring instead. Does anyone have experience with getting a different earring lately? And what did you have to do? I am reading information from ffxiclopedia, but it would be great to read it from people with first hand experience. I'm really hoping I don't have to go through hours of trying to get an alliance and fighting those Arc Angels again.

Next, I recently finished the ToAU missions, and I can't figure out which ring to choose, none seem to fit either WHM nor PLD. Any suggestions?

Do you mean Suppanomini for any job which subs NIN? :P Knight's Earring is nice, but other earrings like Ethereal Earring and Hades Earring/+1 can easily substitute it, whereas Suppa is useful for any /nin dual wielding. For WHM... well, the Divine skill boosts your Repose but unless you don't intend levelling any other jobs =/

The RNG ring is incredibly job-specific whereas Ulthalam's and Balrahn's are both good for a lot of jobs. Speaking as a melee, Ulthalam's is a great ring to use level50+.

Lol, thanks for that, I changed the name. Can you tell I never had the chance to wear it! I don't even remember the name XD Yah, I keep hearing Ultha is a good melee ring. Hey, do you know if Suppa is a good earring if I lvled THF and if Ultha ring is good for THF as well?

If you're lvling THF, which uses /NIN almost exclusively from lv24, better bets are on keeping Suppa, as it is the ONLY earring to date that has dual-wield+.

If you're saying Knightly just for the VIT+2, you have Mercenary (as long as you're /WAR) or trying your luck finding a Robust (though not many goldsmithers will be making topaz earrings)... or going to the assault Azure Ailments (2nd lieutenant @ mamool ja) until you can get an Eta (which is VIT+3, even better!)

Frankly, I don't think +5 is going to do much difference in shielding or divine magic at this point, especially with earrings you can get from Apocalypse Nigh as great alternate ear choices (that, and things like Loquacious for WHM and Hades for PLD, as previously mentioned).

Now, if the question was "I'm going to do Apocalypse Nigh, and I need your opinion on Static or Etherial, I play both WHM and PLD" we'd probably spark more discussion... (I would say Static if you main WHM more often, and Etherial if you PLD more often, but that's just one opinion.)

As for the second half of the question:

Ultha is a good ring for THF (or any melee job) with its base attack/hit+ (hard to find a ring that has both simultaneously) and the added STR/DEX/regen bonus in Assault areas (and Salvage too, which is a HUGE plus).
I think a PLD can go either way between Ultha and Balra because you can make good use of either... though if I strictly had to choose it would be Ultha for the regen. (I mean, you already got Parade Gorget for the refresh...)
But, as a main WHM, with occasional RDM kicking in, Balra is sometimes nothing short of godly (20MP/min for free while you're helping your friend duke out the final battle of ToAU missions proves to go a loooooooooong way) so if you main WHM often, you should give Balra a thought as well...

By the time ur high enough lv with your pld to use the supp or knightly earring you may find yourself doing ptys or events as pld/nin. in those cases you will be glad u have it.
