As you may know, I have a tenancy to have many animated avatars that would amuse y'all.
After the update, every kind of animated avatar (even if it only has 2 frames) gets glitchy and messed up.
And for somewhat larger ones (300~400KB), it simply doesn't upload. It just stops on a blank page.

yeah, I tried a few different animated avatars.
This one it just sped up, another one it only used 2 of the 10 frames and zoomed in a lot on the 2nd frame.
It is weird.
I had to log out and back in before. now it works.

When you upload I think it tries to resize the GIF if its over 100x100 and doesn't do a very good job of it so it looks messed up.
Mine seems to skip at the start for some reason, it doesn't in Photoshop :(

I edit all of my avatars to 100x100 before I upload them.
Just curious if this'll be addressed at all. ;_;

It doesn't matter what I do. It either gets glitched the *** up or just doesn't upload at all when it's clearly under the max upload size.

I only said it looks sort of blurry since it doesn't look perfectly smooth. I'm into graphic design so I notice stuff like that. >.>;

GIF resizing is buggy at best, particularly if the original file has transparency and/or animation. If you want it to work properly you need to resize it yourself to 100x100 before uploading it, otherwise the server will do it for you and potentially break the image.
We used to have remote avatars here, but the bigwigs changed them to local because of:
A) people using utterly MASSIVE animated avatars that were causing the pages to load slowly.
B) assorted jackassery relating to avatars.
