I just started this trial today after realizing this scythe had 7 Store TP on it. Was just curious about what people thought about the scythe in general.

Reckoning RareEx
[Main] All Races
DMG:105 Delay:528
Store TP +7
LV 80 DRK

I understand that in order to 5-hit this scythe it requires 39 Store TP, 15 from /sam and 24 from Gear.

In the the past the main reason a 5-hit was looked down upon was you ended up sacrificing way too much ACC just to maintain the build and had to eat Carbonara which made it not even worth it, but now with this scythe and Newer gear maintaining stable ACC and Haste gear does not seem that hard at all. You can even eat Pizza or w/e food you want with this scythe using the proper gear~

To maintain a True 5-hit you Would need...

Reckoning: +7
Rose Strap: +4
White Tat: +2
Brutal: +1
Rajas: +5
Goading Belt: +5

Ideal Gearset would look something like this

As You can see your not giving up or sacrificing any haste or ACC in any important slots other than bomblet~

This 528 Delay Build would also Build TP Faster than a 501 Delay 6-hit Build using VBelt.

Using FFXI Calc to see TP build it showed me that it would look something like this.

With Haste Hasso and 2x March

20% Gear Haste 528 Delay 5-Hit: 15 Seconds to 100 TP Swinging every 3.0 Seconds

21% Gear Haste 501 Delay 6-Hit: 16.8 Seconds to 100 TP Swinging every 2.8 Seconds

So you would have a 5-Hit Build and 4-Hit Return after WS, along with if you were Drk/Nin youd have an easy 6-hit only needing The Scythe, Rose Strap Brutal and Rajas.

This is the build that I am going to start aiming towards I am pretty sure it will wipe the floor with current Standard Scythe Builds. Only thing better that I can think of would be the OAT Scythe~

But im also curious as to what other people think about it.

It's nice to see people doing work here to find true 5-hits for certain jobs.
But the only flaw in what you have here is that DRK cannot use Belenos' Mantle.
So you would merely have to make an adjustment to use
Fourth Division Mantle or White Tathlum.
But at this point you would be sacrificing some more acc if you go with Fourth. All depends on your gear set though.

Would depend on dot/ws ratio rly.

High delay scythe is 8.48% slower after haste (build b has 1 more haste)

Can also note that there arent any good 6-hit 501 Delay scythes atm, Perdu Sickle seems to be dead with all the newer scythes... even though thats what I am using atm :/

In Terms of low Delay Scythes the only Available one would be Redemptions 502 delay but nobody has a clue where those 50 Chloris Buds come from, and im sure your average player wont be running around with that scythe either.

Unless I am mistaken?

Ok, silly question(I'm at work not on the game so I can't check), but how do you get the Reckoning Scythe in the first place? Is it in the wooden box next to the Magian Moogle? I tried to check Wiki, but I can't find how to actually acquire the scythe.

Reckoning is a variant of the WS path of scythes.

Luckily, they're some of the easiest trials. Just spam WS's, don't even need to kill ***really.

5hit still isn't worth rockin an Ivory sickle, I'll stick with STR+6 Attack+20 Absolution. I like the 6hit with Sword Strap more, goading belt FTW.

Just put in the numbers for the 6-hit Sword Strap Goading Belt for Absolution.

With 2x March Haste and Hasso would take you 17.4 Seconds to get to 100 TP. compared to the 5-hit, both would have the same amount of haste.

Youd be swinging every 2.9 Seconds.

I'm using FFXICalc to get these seconds down.

Thanks! I'm pretty much looking for an alternate scythe to work on while I wait for weather to pop on my main trial scythe. I'm also a sucker for having a variety of weapons, I have a lot of stuff that's just for solo fun.

I still think the OAT scythe will parse higher, I'm pretty sure you can 5 hit it as well because it has over 528 delay?

What is the highest base damage scythe you can reach these days on trials?

I totally agree w/ you about the OAT scythe that thing seems pretty monstrous. It sits on 528 delay though, so you'd still be using a standard 6-hit.

This is the highest DMG available Magian Scythe.

Redemption RareEx
[Main] All Races
DPS: 13.51 DMG:113 Delay:502
LV 80 DRK

Its an Empyrean weapon, you need 50 Chloris buds to complete it from a higher Tier Abyssea NM but nobody knows how to pop the NM atm, and more than likely it will only drop 1-2 buds at a time.

I'm not sure how to really calculate it, but I would think the 113 damage with a 6 hit would out damage the 105 with a 5 hit. What do you think? Obviously we have no idea what the difficulty is, but I wouldn't wanna go through the hell of trials for a sub-optimal weapon.

imo OAT scythe > all outside of Apoc and Trialed Mythic but 5hit build imo, this is just my opinion would out parse STR/Attck Magian'd one, would be slight, but I see the 5hit build pulling ahead slightly.

I have gear for it, but I haven't actually put together a set. haven't gotten to sub anything but nin to anywhere because if I do, I die, quickly.

Right now w/o organizing things, I'd just ws in usu body since I don't have brisk mask for TP.

TP usu/rajas/brutal, WS usu/rajas/brutal

Campaign body would also work if you didn't have usu, but no str on that thing at all

Yeah guess i'll be going campaign body >.>

Just curious, with the extra 2% haste from poise shoes where would be a good place to trade down on haste for stats? Again, no usukane but hands.

only thing I can think of on the top of my head would be brisk mask, but that hasn't been found yet.

Not gonna swap off black belt, byakko's is possible to swap, but you don't have usu legs.

Yea so Goading Belt drops off the Boss of the zone in Abyssea - Tahrongi.

Getting this build made is going to be alot harder than I thought...

You need to kill 8 T2 NMs(for key items that are not 100%) and then 2 T3s and hope they drops the key items used to pop the Boss of the zone Lacovie an Aspid NM with Horns.
