I've been wondering the same thing. You can grind out 1exp into 74-75 in a day but i think if they continue raising the TNL's it's going to aggravate a lot of people. I really do hope they cap it at as you said 50k or something reasonable.

Like you have on your chart their LVL80 would 60k exp that's a whole lot of exp. especially when the only readily available exp+ tool is emperor/empress rings. Allied and kupo can be gotten but for the weekend warrior who doesnt care for campaign those are it.

So i'm really hoping they put in added exp items or make some quests that give better exp then a shitty scroll for 1-2k exp.

Isn't it a steady 2k per level after 50 instead of some sort of curve?

Still a sizeable grind, but nothing like what you posted.

I feel like they will not allow for more than 100k exp TNL from 98-99

Well... Do you all think they will reduce our current leveling curve?

Because if they don't, and the leveling grind is allowed to remain at its current velocity you may need an additional 3.7 Million EXP from 76 to 99 (per job)!

This is what the leveling curve could look like IF Square Enix doesn't want to reduce the velocity of the curve!

LV ~ EXP req ~ Running Total

76 ~ 46,000 ~
77 ~ 48,000 ~ 94,000
78 ~ 50,000 ~ 144,000
79 ~ 55,000 ~ 199,000
80 ~ 60,000 ~ 259,000
81 ~ 65,000 ~ 324,000
82 ~ 70,000 ~ 394,000
83 ~ 75,000 ~ 469,000
84 ~ 80,000 ~ 549,000
85 ~ 85,000 ~ 634,000
86 ~ 90,000 ~ 724,000
87 ~ 95,000 ~ 819,000
88 ~ 100,000 ~ 919,000
89 ~ 110,000 ~ 1,029,000
90 ~ 120,000 ~ 1,299,000
92 ~ 180,000 ~ 1,479,000
93 ~ 210,000 ~ 1,689,000
94 ~ 240,000 ~ 1,929,000
95 ~ 270,000 ~ 2,199,000
96 ~ 300,000 ~ 2,499,000
97 ~ 350,000 ~ 2,849,000
98 ~ 400,000 ~ 3,249,000
99 ~ 500,000 ~ 3,749,000

I just hope they either cap the EXP requirement to 50K or below per level (76-99) or introduce plentiful ways to earn lots of EXP.

Ultimately i just hope the curve is reduced.

What's everyone thoughts on this?
Overcrowded camps, lots of level syncs, and ALOT of MMM. As for 500k to 99 not too unreasonable. 50k a day for 10 days, but they've been aiming at making the game less mind numbing to play for so many years I doubt the curve will continue as you predicted.

allied ring tho is only once every 36 hrs and 5 charges, it wont help that much compared to 500k exp!

I say its gonna be capped at 100k prob for 99 at most.. I hope lol

Don't hold me to this, but wasn't their some buzz around the time of the lvl cap announcement that SE was considering lowering the exp curve pre-75? Given that players now have to get sub jobs to 49 as opposed to 37 now this would make sense. Making it faster to get your subs lvl'd and get jobs into the mid range quicker. This by default could affect the curve at the new higher lvl's.

i think they will make it easier to obtain exp at levels 76+ whether it be a higher exp cap, exp bonuses or new rings or w/e. and i also think they will reduce the amount of exp needed to level for old levels under 75

SE stated during vanfest that the soft would be raised from 200 a mob to 1k. Im sure this will help alot.

Im unable to find the footage but it was during the fest itself. Right around the time they talked about the lvl cap increase. If anyone has the video readily available Im sure they could find it.

1,000 exp per mob won't be too bad at level 99 assuming we have to go 100,000 exp...

an average of ~200 exp(at 74-75 if you're killing Greater Colibri) it would require 220 mobs to go from 0 exp to 44,000 exp and level up to 76. If they were to increase the soft cap per mob to 1,000(assuming you can't chain at all, you'd get much more if you could chain, but I don't know how exp chain bonus timers work) would require ~90-100 mobs to go from 98-99 depending on where they would put the TNL for 98-99 and how much exp you could from a chain bonus.

I'm not sure where OP is getting that rate of expansion from. Ignoring everything that's been said and purely going off the exp per level from 51 onwards, it'd be something more like this

75 - 44k
76 - 46k
77 - 48k
78 - 50k
79 - 52k
80 - 54k
Unknown increase per level here, assuming 3k increase per level
81 - 57k
82 - 60k
83 - 63k
84 - 66k
85 - 69k
86 - 72k
87 - 75k
88 - 78k
89 - 81k
90 - 84k
Unknown increase per level again, assuming 4k increase per level
91 - 88k
92 - 92k
93 - 96k
94 - 100k
95 - 104k
96 - 108k
97 - 112k
98 - 116k
99 - 120k

This is what I'd call a worst case scenario, going off the exp per level of 51-75, and increasing the step every 10 levels more then it rightly should. For all we know it will be capped at 2k per level as mentioned somewhere above, which would make it 92k tnl at level 99. We also can't be sure what SE has in-store for us for just about ANYTHING related to the level increase, so let's just wait 2 more days and see, lol.

I would see this to make the most sense as far as EXP curves go. Too little of an increase would be easy, but too steep of a curve would upset players. This curve looks like it feels it's able to be obtained while still setting a challenge.

Im afraid i would have to agree with OP curve, it sounds alot like SE.

If w/e SE is going to do, didnt piss players... they would have told us already!

I'm sure all this will be like starting the game from zero. Imo, be ready to have little jobs at 99 and little end game events.

Be ready to have to spam xp and fight for decent gear level 99ish.

But I do hope im completly wrong.

I Can't imagine it being 500k xp to get to 99 thats insane lol..100~120k sounds much more reasonable.

Lol I love all the speculation before the major updates...and how wrong most ppl are.

I think its just going to be one quest to kill Jaged Eye Jack and once you get Rabbit Charm to drop you instantly get 99. I think I heard that some where..

If SE wanted to put this game on Extra Hard mode they would do that. I wouldn't go out on a limb and say SE is that heartless.
