From skilling up all weapons on war (except katana and GK) on mandys (abys-altepa) and using all three skill-up food I can vouch for this:

1- Saltena ??-200~
2- Elshena 200-300~
3- Montagna 300-??

It works for all combat skills (off/def), people testing with shield and parry might have forgotten to keep 60% angle.

Also may not considered Evasion/shield/parry/etc fail checks to get more skill ups.

combat skills are anything listed in the "combat skill" menu of the status menu, weapons skill, and defensive skills such as parrying/shield/guard

Seems to work well for me. People having problems need to note the mobs they are fighting. All the food buffs earrings and other stuff wont do anything if your fighting something you can't actually get skillups on in the first place.

Very good skill up food. I haven't tried the Maringnas but these have a much more noticeable effect than Saltena/Elshenas. I was able to take Club from 331 to 404 cap in 2 hours 7 mins as WHM/MNK counterstance fighting 3 Mandies at a time in Abyssea - Altepa.

It also helped with ~280 sword up to 334 cap on THF, so I don't believe this is limited to 300+ skills only. I haven't tested it with any skills significantly below 300. No noticeable effect on ~240 Guard skill ups (Saltena/Elshena don't work well either).

I have seen a noticable effect on shield skillups at 320+

Noticed a small improvement after hitting 315, but got much, much better after 320. (offensive melee skill ups)

Used this on dolls in aby after hitting 300 skill, noticed huge skill up rate improvement after 340 ish.
