Don't use this at low levels. Use rice dumplings instead. They give +5 acc and +str and +att as well. Much better food for low levels.

It has to be said that this is great +Acc food. BUT!!! it is only when you hit around Lv. 35-40 that you should be useing it because it is % based you would hit more often at lower a lower Lv. useing Carp of Jacko's this is true of all the sushi. If you are buying it because of its other stats then great but at lower levels this is not the best +Acc food. It just anoys me to see sushi getting used in the dunes and people when asked why say its +acc

My fellow chefs,

It is given that the price of sushi rises and falls based on supply, demand, and availability of synth materials. However, please review the calculations below before proceeding.

Let's assume that you farm your own crystals, fish your own fishes, grow your own rice, and buy water at an NPC for 12g a piece.

Wasabi = 2000
Water = 12
Rice Vinegar = 250
Total cost per synth = $2,262

$2262 x 6 = $13,572 per stack with another assumption of no failed synth.

$13,572 + 500 (approx AH fee) = $14,072.

With that said, selling a stack of this for anything less than $25,000 is a waste of your time considering you spent all the time and money to get to the level that can safely make sushi without too many breaks.

The calculation above is only an approximate cost with said assumptions. Think about how much it would cost if you had to buy your own fish, crystals, and rice. Don't forget to take into account of breaks and time spent synthesizing these items.

This can also be made with Dil which are the eastern equivalent of Black Sole.

Between combat skill 58 and 112 (level 19-37 for A weapon), tentacle sushi will give more accuracy than any other food. It is capped at +18 acc, but gives a 19% bonus rather than 15% or 16%. Below 58 Jack-O-Lanterns will give as much or more; above 112 Bream Sushi will give as much or more.

I used to think that sushi wasn't good for lower levels as well, but after doing some calculations with FFXI Calculator 2.94 (Great program btw) I get a higher hit rate even in the Valkurm Dunes levels than Jack-o-latterns and Rice Dumplings.

I would argue that the difference is very negligible, about a 2% difference really. And sushi is more expensive than a 3 hour Jack-o-lattern. And how much do you really want to pay on the dunes? lol.

Still, just thought I'd share my calculations.

For the low levels, instead of a Sole Sushi you can use a Rice Dumpling (as said before in another comment), however if you're really desperate for accuracy, you should use Jack-o'-Lantern's. They're really cheap too. :)

@Skiutah

The thing that you have to keep in mind is that it has to do with more than hit-rate at lower levels. Sure, your acc may be a few % higher with sushi, but between the static 5 acc and atk on Rice Dumplings (or hell, the atk on any meat) your overall dmg will be MUCH higher, due to how potent atk is at lower levels.

At the ones that say sushi is not as good as other foods in dunes. This is not 100% correct. Though I do believe that Dumplings are better just because of the attk bonus

A WAR in the dunes at lv 12 with no gear on wielding an axe would have 57 base acc and base attk of 56.5

Sole sushi stats
ACC + 9.45
DEX + 6
STR + 5
ATTK + 1

The +1 would give
ACC + 10.08
DEX + 6
STR + 5
ATTK + 1

Dumplings would give
acc + 5
STR + 3
VIT + 2
AGI + 1
attk + 11.6
It all depends on the job and stats
