Anyone who is planning on raising chocobos should really try to get their cooking skill to 21+ for this. Its an excellent food that increases Receptivity and Discernment very quickly while also helping keep affection high. This is my chick food of choice and I feed my chicks this and nothing else until they've reached day 29. This stuff is a pain to find in the Auction House so having your cooking leveled possibly high enough to HQ it can really save you a good bit of money (Lizard eggs are expensive and have a pretty bad drop rate. La Theine Millet can ONLY be obtained by purchasing it for around 2k apiece from Ferdoulemiont at the Sandy Chocobo stables.)
@Sterling: Vegetable Paste doesn't increase affection once the chocobo is an adolescent, so I'd recommend going with greens or something else on day 19 and on. In the chick stage, however, it's great for affection.
