They gave us more inventory, load times are longer. *shrug* That's the infrastructure we're working with. Yep. As well as every other player, their visible gear, the fireworks some excitable Japanese player is chain-using in Port Jeuno, all of it. Valefor.Slore said: » So many doomsayers who do not even play the game anymore? Why do you troll forums if you don't play the game? You have no idea anymore than the rest of us do on what the announcement is going to be or include but quick to say it's the end of the world. Isn't there another game you could be playing or a forum to whine on?

That is from the skill book pages being used. Just taking a guess there, that's the only thing that gets spammed on my server that I see. Mookies said: » The lightbub animation "firework"? I was just being excessive to make a point, but I do on occasion see people spamming actual fireworks outside of the mog houses in Port Jeuno. But the skill books are a good example too, as they're essentially the same thing from an animation standpoint. Asura.Ackeronll said: » I'm hoping for FFXI-2 >_> Takes place 20-100 years later. If you played FFXI your character will be either a descendent or your character reincarnated. The lead up to it and the end of FFXI could be an expansion or add-on where the goddess finally comes to you and tells you your work in this era is done and it's time for you to move on till you are needed again. The missions will involve everyone you helped in previous expansions and prepare them for a world w/o the Blessing of Light leading up to a final CS where you enter Atomos and are erased from every ones memories. The world at peace for the time being and instead of you being remembered all they can remember is a light of the goddess. Flash forward 100 years. The next Shadowlord is created, the Mithra queen or w/e has come to reclaim the mithra they split off to join Windurst, The Orcs have launched a major offensive from their continent against San'doria, and Bastok has exhausted its resources and is becoming a wasteland. The Light of the Goddess is needed once again. I can dream right? Not a complete pipe dream imo; XI was a extremely popular MMO. Why not milk it within their budget/available resources? Could bring more players back. I was thinking minor crap, but why do a presser for miniscule refinements? Then again, this is SE..... Imo, it is going to really big; for better or worse, no in-between. I could be wrong, just my 2 cents. one thing I would love to see is a apocalypse nigh type mission where every mission line comes together so you will need every mission line complete to do one final boss fight for the game. example have rank 10 all 3 nations be on The Last verse for zilart and cop. have captain rank from toau and have all wings missions done along with medal of altana. finish all of seekers of adoulin missions. have all 3 add on scenario's finished and have the main abyssea quest line finished

The missing Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy XI.
I'll grimace at first, then smile. Reaching over to pop in my dentures, adjust my oxygen, clean my glasses, wave over my wife I then begin. *ahem* It all began with a trip to the Korean game shop, or so the legend says.... In ages past an oversized, overpriced PS2 box called from a distance and banished my social life. It's many colored adventures filled my world with life and brought forth mighty allies. Bathed in that light, my world entered a state of mindless obsession. Until after a time, the adventures fell into mediocrity. That world was called: Vana'diel Stay a while and listen. I think that if SE made some changes they could get a chunk of player base back. Take a look at WOW, they have a huge player-base but they also advertise it, tv ads, web ads. I have never seen an advertisement for FFXI even with expansion packs. Build a new expansion, drop ps2, beef up the graphics and throw some advertisements out there and get some people back. It works for wow all these years.
SE sucks *** at marketing. Even at it's peak no one knew about XI to sub to it once the initial blitz wave bought copies.
If anything, XI is a case study on how a company like SE can make so many god damn blunders and still manage to create something unique and meaningful to it's base. How many years did Tanaka essentially flip off customers because *** you, im the producer? Lakshmi.Sparthosx said: » SE sucks *** at marketing. I did see a couple XIV commercials when that first came out but I'm thinking maybe 2 if that. YouTube Video Placeholder Dear lord, its terrible. lol And if you think XIV did better? Nope. YouTube Video Placeholder THE CHEESE. LOL. DEAR LORD IT BURNS. never know SE might try to make it so you can do everything in game solo so they can make the game playable off line?
So today I remembered this thing...
YouTube Video Placeholder ...would be pretty neat to load your trusts up into separate windows like that, eh? My pipe dream would be to drop the PS2 support and beef up the Windows client with stuff like the above. But... it's SE. So maybe it's just a video to unveil the new burrito synths or something. Escape reality live the fantasy *Please don't forget your work/school/family/or friends though !*

I hated those flea/gnat things you couldn't target !
Bunch of trolls here. Let's stop speculating and just wait for this live stream!
Mindless speculation is an American tradition. I just want to know how the Democrats are responsible for shutting down Vana'diel.
Damned Black Mages, they should stop ruining everything. First we had to deal with an influx of illegal Puppetmasters, lazy good for nothing Bards and now we've given so much welfare to Geomancers that they are dragging down the realm. Dat commercial...wait, FFXI used to cost 100 bucks, really?! Honestly I have no memory of how much I paid this game, but that sounds crazy.

I paid 120 for the PS2 XI bundle. lol
Just look at this amazing review:
The internal 40 GB Hard Disk Drive takes the PlayStation 2 to the next evolutionary phase! Preloaded with FFXI, this combo will utilize the Network Adapter (sold separately) to bring you the first massively multiplayer online role-playing game in the Final Fantasy series. The hard drive ushers in the ability for downloadable content, saving cds to create a personal jukebox, faster loading times and simultaneous gameplay between PC and PS2 users in the FFXI world! FFXI throws players into the world of Vana'diel standing at the brink of war. Three Democrats stand against a force of insurmountable evil. You are their last hope. Unite with adventures all around the globe to save Vana'diel from the clutches of doom! This is unquestionably the best MMORPG available for the console, with a high potential to eat away at your free time, and possibly be responsible for some "sick" days at work. Sure, you'll have to pay a hefty sum for the game and peripherals, but if you're the type of person who even considers a purchase like this, you won't be disappointed. http://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XI-HDD-PlayStation-2/dp/B00012TIWS |
