I got the idea from Dennis Hopper's "Well Dressed Man" disguise in the movie Blue Velvet... so...1986? or somewhere around there...
I started making disguises and then wearing them and becoming the character...which scared the living hell out of everyone that knew me...
It's the snapping it off and on bit that bothers everyone the most I think... one second I can be a boxcar hobo and the next a wealthy investment broker...
"Truck driving man" was pretty frightening...I made my own "mullet" wig out of a trucker hat by super gluing my own hair into it....

It's camouflage for my subterfuge. As an example... If I needed auto parts to fix my car I could put on the "Truck Driving Man" disguise and everyone in the store treated me like I knew what I was doing.
"Blue collar man" was a blue employee's uniform complete with matching coat. whenever I needed to blend into a factory settign
I still use the "well dressed man disguise" all the time to get bank loans and stuff...

I can always spot a fake because of the way they move in their clothes... someone that just "dressed up" for the day has an uncomfortable look about them.
You gotta wear it like you were born in it! and never took it off!
and even then if you are going the bargain disguise route you probably won't fool a gay man... they can spot a knock off from a hundred yards.... and not to mention your disturbing lack of a decent manicure!

Feel like birthdays are treated way too much like an obligatory thing that they've completely lost any meaning anymore, sure as kids we enjoy them but that's because we get free stuff and sugary foods.
