Aita Mage Method Question |

Aita mage method question
Short question, there’s conflicting information on bgwiki and ffcycolpedia about when vivisection will be used. Do we have a consensus of whether it’s 3 minutes after the pull or 3 minutes after he first TP move?
3 minutes after pull, although I believe if he's mid-action it can sometimes delay him slightly past 3 minutes.
In terms of timing Sforzo, I think I'd usually pop it around 2:50 to 2:55 after pull. We've had the 3 minute marker pass multiple times when we were first working through Aita using mage setup. We would always proc shortly after the TP move was used.
Wiki also mentions it's possible procing might actually delay Vivisection. I can definitely say we have never seen the move at 3 minutes on the dot. In fact I've personally never seen it used in the handful attempts where we went past the 3 minute mark. This is for either 3 minutes after pull or TP move, as the TP move is generally used within a few seconds (like max 10 seconds) after pull. From observations, the window opens at 3min after Aita engaging/aggroing, but may not be used right at the 3min mark.
If he's doing a TP move, it will wait for it to finish plus a 2sec delay. Enough time for it to be proc-ed. And it may just be delayed for 10-15sec. Never noticed any connection to his initial TP moves. I’d recommend using BG Wiki for any modern content.
BG WIKI replaced FFXIpedia in about 2016 as the go-to. IMO due to the push ad spam on that site lol. Bahamut.Senaki said: » I’d recommend using BG Wiki for any modern content. Also, in regard to the other replies on here, I have spoken to someone who keeps impeccable data about timers, and they have confirmed that the move is used roughly 3 minutes after the first tp move (3:03-3:07 in all their samples) and 3:09-3:11 after the initial pull. So, there doesn't appear to be a definitive answer as to which triggers the move, and it's doubtful people would just kite the mob around, not letting it get off a tp move to test which is the "true" trigger, since that would likely cost the win. Aminon's Bane of Tartarus only happens after he gets a TP move off. No TP move, no Bane. Aminon and Aita are very similar, so it could be Aita also needs to get a TP move off before Vivisection can happen.
If someone goes in on Rdm solo and wants to test it.. Lute spent hours wiping to it so we have a good record on his stream archives.
If it's timer based it's inexact. If it's from pull it's VERY inexact. My team times off the first TP move and it's been pretty consistent (no 'early' Vivis if/when it reaches that point in the fight). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvUiKF4bItg Code Timestamp (time remaining) Event =========================================== 12:25 (47:57) Aita engaged 12:31 (47:50) Aita readies Fulminous Smash 15:39 (44:43) Aita readies Vivisection 18:53 (41:29) Aita readies Vivisection 21:59 (38:22) Aita readies Vivisection Party exits/re-enters 43:56 (16:26) Aita re-engaged 44:04 (16:18) Aita readies Eroding Flesh 47:10 (13:11) Aita readies Vivisection 50:17 (10:03) Aita readies Vivisection 53:25 (06:57) Aita readies Vivisection 56:32 (03:50) Aita readies Vivisection 59:38 (00:44) Aita readies Vivisection IF someone else feels like watching his other VODs to see if it's another countdown (number of TP moves, if procing blue !! modulates it, etc) have at it. Timer methods seem good enough for most groups learning the fight. Other source on 'from the first TP move' https://x.com/long_horned/status/1590166921902972928 'Vivisection comes approximately 3 minutes and 5 seconds from the first special move, and then every 3 minutes and 5 seconds thereafter' |
