Recently there were (I hope that they will stay) two completely new players joining my linkshell. Not returners from 20 years ago, but people who have never played XI before. It made me realize how confusing this game is even if they use the BG new players' guide.
Which RoE they should pick, how to get to X or Y place, what is the difference between Magic Accuracy Skill and Magic Accuracy in the gear description, and what are those green/white/blue circles in gear?
This game does not explain the basics of combat, magic, or crafting. After this, I stopped being surprised why so many people leave the game before level 50.
And I'm not even counting the nightmare called registering your account and setting the POL.

I mean you're not wrong. I still don't know how to tackle crafting. It's something I'd love to learn but where to start? I don't really know.

This 1 million percent. Even when 14 exploded because of popular streamers deciding to give the game a shot. A lot of western companies and said streamers started to give SE a lot of hard time for it. The Mog station was confusing. So if that is confusing, I imagine most people gives up at PoL set up, even if there's guides for it. Which is something that turns away a lot of potential players.

Some changes I think they should make to the starter exp:
Give players 3 trusts when you finish the initiation trust quest, healer/tank/dd. I see so many players with one single trust it's outrageous, I always try to tell them how to get more but often they are JP.
Finish the trust starter quest when you talk to the trade trust npc, they added that extra step before you can trade that trips up so many people.
Make completion of one city trust quest, complete them all.
Add that blue ! icon they added to the sparks npc specifically (I know they don't like to do it cause it hurts the look of the game but it's pretty important)
Give new players more maps by default.
Allow players to have thier LFG flag on with trusts out.
ROE should be opt out instead of opt in, everyone should already have RoE activated.
Add spells to the sparks NPC, at least some basic ones.
Give mage jobs more spells and abilities that help them to dmg, stuff like temper so people can level to cap with trusts easier on mage jobs.
Also they should give a message after you complete missions that tell you what you unlocked, for instance "You unlocked a 4th summonable trust" instead of just doing it as a hidden thing.
The 3 mage gate for windurst missions needs to be changed so you can solo it.

Also, its been a while, but I dont believe theres any lockout on the Alter Ego basic RoE's? Sure, its annoying with all the running that needs to be done, but Valaineral = tank, Mihli = healer, Tenzen = dd, Joachim = buffs, Adelheid = i have no idea, nuker?
Now I've never done it, but bg says kupipi won't give you the portal charm until after you finish that mission, so, no it cannot be soloed.

Off topic: There's a series a quests players can do in Windurst Waters to gain access to Toraimarai Canal from Windurst Walls. That gives backdoor access to the mage gate.

However, any player who started Windurst 3.2 and is stuck (you cant cancel missions, can you?) probably isnt high enough level to handle the NM from the previous quest.

SE is kind of down bad with that Avengers mess. Forpsoken seems to be high on international charts, not sure that is the type of game you wanna make a PS (PC) excusive if sales are your goal........(New IP).
