1. This thread was over at around the 5th reply. It could have probably been in a Random Questions thread w/o needing to create a new one, but that's none of my business.
2. The offending / triggering image I first posted in this thread is not a meme. It is a screenshot of a scene in a movie. There is no text. Not every picture is a meme.
3. The block button next to my posts will remove me from all future threads on your end. I'm guessing that you will want to do that shortly after this thread is locked/dies as I'm sure you want to sit around and wait to see if your seeds of bitterness sprout.
4. To those waiting for me to eviscerate the offending person with memes, you know I can and I know it would make this a juicy Friday thread to check in on from time to time as you visit this site, but, for now, I will refrain. I have cracked into the mixed drinks already on this Friday afternoon and things could change. I could post the "You wouldn't like me when I'm angry" screenshot of The Incredible Hulk, but that's a bit much.
5. I'm a little embarrassed by people calling my posts "art" or "comedy". There are artists and there are comedians and then there is me coming up with little shitpost memes on a nearly-20-year-old game's forums. I'm literally just taking 20~30 seconds to add text to images that I quickly come up with via google image searches. I'm only applying wit (or lack of, per the criticism), screencapping it, and adding the [img] code.
6. I will take your criticism under advisement. I can totally see how if you often refresh the same threads multiple times a day and keep seeing the same crappy memes load, that could get tiresome. I really should be able to post what I want as long as it doesn't break the rules of this site, but I do kind of take... Let's see. How do I put this? Groot comes to mind. He only says "I am Groot". I tend to do a similar thing in quick responses to things and stick a meme in everything I say. I will try to, AT LEAST, keep it in the back of my mind that not everyone thinks it is funny.
A wise thing I once heard (and I try to live by in my real life VS an online gaming thread; but it does come in handy) is asking myself three questions. Does this need to be said? Does this need to be said now? Does this need to be said by me? The puzzle pieces with my memes and that line of thought don't exactly line up, but I can try to force it a bit.
Does this post right here need a meme? No. Do I have the "I'm about to end this man's whole career" meme on deck? You betcha.
Some people overuse the word "meme", however. Generally young adults and teenagers tend to replace the word "joke" or "joking around" with "memeing". To be fair, the post on this thread that triggered that initial crappy comment from some stranger about my memes wasn't a meme at all and was simply a picture of Captain America.
Again: not every picture is a meme.
I'm not exactly sure that I "work in comedy". I suppose if you were there for when the memes started, then you would maybe understand it a bit more, but if you were not, then it wouldn't make sense. This really got going during the Medal Duping mega-thread. Ya had to have been there, I suppose.
In regards to patting myself on the back, the only thing that comes to mind is recently I posted a meme about Box Destroyer and I actually made myself laugh with that one and stated as much. It is a rarity that any of my memes are anything more than me responding to others posts in a meme. I know not all of them are comedy gold. I try to keep at least half of them funny or simply take what I am replying to and put it in a meme format. I'm not a power-user here with 5-figure post count, but I do post regularly enough that you would likely not be able to avoid seeing me put memes into threads.
I'm not going to stop posting memes because someone with obvious mental health issues pent up their hatred of me for however long and just exploded up there, seemingly out of the blue. (Unless they are a sock puppet account, which is possible). I could post a tinfoil hat meme here, but I'll show restraint.
There is a little button that says "Block" in the corner of my posts. I highly suggest you click it to toggle away every one of my posts. You may still see them if someone else quotes my posts in their posts, but what are ya gonna do?
