Has it been posted that you can skillup from the synthesis focuser on stage 4 shield? I wasn't sure if skill/food effected ur HQ rate/success etc but im guessing that it does now since it must be treated as an actual synthesis.

I had always assumed that the Synthesis Focuser was a completely disjoint system from traditional crafting (partially as a way to avoid cheating with existing packet tampering addons). Is there evidence that this minigame is actually affected by skill or HQ rate bonuses?

Kinda what i thought too, but since i was getting goldsmithing skillups im assuming that it is effected by at least your skill, if not food as well

JPs use food, so would make sense. Pretty neat it gives you skillups though.

Always used food/gear available. It doesn't kill you if it does or doesn't. And yes, if you are serious about finishing your shield, might as well stop at 100 and you will get the rest at focuser.
