is it soloable now with pld or blu?

I tried on PLD with Aegis and -50% DT.

I died at 1%.....

Pissed me off so bad, I didn't have RR or anything.

So, yes, it's soloable, just bring RR for the final 1% Astral Flow shitfest.

I would say PLD with Aegis can, you're still in line to take a lot of magic damage in final form. Physically no ilvl job should be at risk, everything has poor accuracy so you just have to watch out for needles like moves or charm.

I can't say I have soloed but I know there are PLD who have, I brought my healer mule with me, pretty much because I could and it allowed me to farm 2 pops at a time, 2/3 times my mule got floored by Astral Flow.

Of course gear options have improved since I last did PW so it's probably easier now.

BLU, I can't really say, my gut instinct would be that they wouldn't be able to reduce the magic damage enough, I'm sure others may have a better idea though.

EDIT: With Vex and Atunement I think you should be pretty safe.

You only have 2 things to worry about:

Discord at the beginning.
Astral Flow at the end.

Discord took out 2 of my trusts at the beginning, both of which are my heavy DDs, so I was stuck with only 1 DD, 1 buffer/debuffer, and 1 healer for most of the fight.

every 25% took out another trust, starting with my buffer, then DD, then healer, so I literally soloed PW from 25% to 1%, at which it raped me with 9 AFs.

I'm not 100% sure, but I am pretty sure at on BLU you can use Sudden Lunge for Discord chariot and just cdc twice and it is dead

I died to PW at 1% on my third pop for Burtgang, luckily I had a friend who came in and finished it for me, I just had to zombie it while he got here, thank you Twilight set!

Even better, you can just melee the lamps and WS PW when it is in Discord form, that's what I did.

I really should take the time to get the body....

I will absolutely try that next time!

and for discord, wouldnt have a party of trusts makes the damage negligible?

Easiest way is to save Shield Bash for Discord.

Discord NM pop-> don't WS (don't want to be locked into WS when it readies discord)-> NM readies discord-> Shield Bash-> WS should kill it.

Other thing to worry about is Belly Dance. Best way is to save Fealty for Lamia.

If you're worried about living through AF, take it slow and only push it in 25% increments and only push it down when you're confident you live. A good way to die is to try to push it too fast and it'll do it twice back to back.

how much is discord damage? cant you eat it with trusts?

No idea but probably. I used to solo it without trusts because I did 150 of them to afterglow my Koga with scoria. (Trusts didn't exist at that time) Probably easier now with trusts. I did it PLD/DNC with Aegis 95.

Afterwards, I found that it's a lot easier with just one other single person with a MDT set. The avatars distribute randomly between the party. So if you have one other person more than 30' away from the PLD, the astral flow will distribute half on the PLD and half on the other player. As long as all the avatars don't overlap, it shouldn't kill you. It actually wouldn't even kill a mage with -50% MDT (gear+shell) with stoneskin.

Alternatively, you just sacrifice that other player every 25%. That also makes astral flow much weaker.

I don't know if BLU can kill it (I don't know how much magic defense bonus they can get or whether they can kill it before astral flow becomes an issue). But other than PLD, I do know that DRK's can do it because they can super drain a random slime in the area to get 8000-9000 HP before they kill PW and MDT the astral flow. SAM can also do well because Yaegesumi will absorb all Astral Flows. I prefer PLD still out of the mix. (since the spells still do hurt and Aegis does help with that)

its used once in a fight right? if it's once in a fight, with an alt char and 4 trusts 10k/6 = 1.7k damage each.

just get a good bst to solo it for you. Can 1 shot all the forms except the final form. then all you need to worry about is the astral flow.

Add a SMN for Alexander right before the last boss and you're golden.

Yeah BST is an easy solo until AF. GEO mule for bolster indi-attune and call it a day.

It is an easy solo for RDM. Soloed it a few times. Best way is to take it down 25% at a time so you can avoid taking multiple AF to the face. I usually carry vile elixirs just in case I take too much damage. Last time I soloed it was about a year ago so I'm sure it's easier now. Always keep your defensive buffs up and keep. Enfeeble it as soon as it changes into the last form and they should last entire fight.

You can with pld aegis also if you're worried pop the magic def or def boost trust you'll be fine

Just get a sam to pop his SP2 before 75% on final form and then it dies in 2 WS.

Very easily soloable, I do it on my Paladin with Aegis and MDB+ set for the Astral Flow Spam at the 75/50/25/1% Marks.

I personally farm it for the Scorias using the following trusts.
Brygid
Arcelia I
Yoran-Oran
Cherukiki
Selh'teus (Replace with a DD of your choice)

Out of all of them, Arcelia seems to be the main one to die most of the time.

for bst just use unleash before final form and Bertha aoe two times real fast.
