Wondering if anyone knows how to run 2 instances of the game on the same PC but with 2 separate controllers which could both be used at the same time?

The only way I can think of to isolate the instances is to virtualize them and forward the usb to the VM, there may be another method to do so however.

But that method works, you can even fiddle with the settings (although I haven't done so) and have a 2nd keyboard, but I looked into it once. I have used 3 controllers at once on the same PC though, so that part is fully functional in that method.

It's possible, just disable the "enable game controller while game is on background" feature on ffxi config. So it won't conflict with the other game window

I've played this way, but i think it's impossible with 2 controllers.

I always had to use one with kb and other with controller.

Have you tried this? As that doesn't sound like it would work, at all. Can't have two items in focus at the same time.
