Is it possible to have both in the end? I wonder because the sword is EX.

Ex just means you can't trade it. Rare would mean you can only hold one. You can hold as many of those as you want.

before 99, they were rare and you could only have 1 on any particular stage. So like PDT swords would be a +1 and a +2, you could still have one from each level of each path. now they aren't rare, you can have 20 PDT shikargars if you want, and as many as you want from all paths.

one of the few things SE did right with the ToM system recently.

Some types of sword magian weapons are. Khanda's, Khadga's and Thibron's for example are rare. Shikargar's and the precursory Shamshir's are not rare, and as far as I know, never were. Had Shamshir's been rare, I wouldn't have been able to have a STR and DEX sword. They may have been thinking about one of those other types?

I don't know what Jassik is saying tbh, I had like 7 Shamshirs, took 5 of them to Shikargars. I guess he is saying you could only have 1 sword on a particular trial, but you could have as many finished swords as you wanted.
