If I'm honest I probably wouldn't be able to answer these questions.
And not many people are skilled at critical thinking in the first place, then there's the camera in your face and people (most likely) watching you, I'd probably panic and blurt out an incorrect answer anyway.

Let's face it, college admissions aren't about your intelligence. They're based on test scores, extracurriculars, and how much you sucked up to the people writing your referrals.

^^^This is applicable to life after college too. This is life in general. Merit doesn't exist anymore.^^^

most people don't recall random facts, and most barely passed school and nobody really is taught to retain the information they "learn".

I know people twice that age who don't know basic ***, even more basic than these questions.
