More Threats to the Internet as We Know It
Easier said than done unfortunately, but I agree Congress is as dirty as it's ever been and there is a river of dirty money in Washington DC.
nothings new ~ the people we elect to office already have some kind of position that holds a certain amount of power. once they get elected/placed into a better seat they always want more power. nothing has changed, nothing's going to change, nothing will change. this is a prime example of greed at its finest~

Looking at the act, I don't see how it's a threat to the internet. Also MPAA is against OPEN whereas they were with SOPA. OPEN sounds more reasonable to me. It just stop payment to pirating sites. This just means that they have to get money other ways to keep their sites open. Now we know who NOT to vote for. I say that only because i support the original intended use of the internet. There are ways to fix our problems that i'm willing to bet aren't being pursued. I don't condone illegal software/music/videos etc but some things out there are EXPENSIVE lol. the entire idea behind copyright (at least in the US) has been trampled, and current copyright laws are an insult to it's intent. what needs to happen is these "laws" and the people behind them need to be sued for a violation of our rights Article 1: Section 8: 8th line (or w/e it's called): US Constitution said: To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries; I'd like to know what part of the DMCA is promoting the progress of science and useful arts?

You know.. It’s kind of crazy to say, but I’m in some way surprised that there has not been attempts at SOPA/PIPA/etc lives. I mean, you think of every user that uses the internet daily. There are people out there that go crazy over these kinds of things... I think it’s just a matter of time to be honest, citizens all over the world have been push around by a minority for too long, they can't supress the masses forever..
Anyways, I’ve shown full support against these acts and sent many letters/emails and phone calls in repulsion of these acts, it’s kind of funny but I think the governments are – for the first time in a long time – the minority in this issue, perhaps with continued efforts on our parts; this may just be a winnable battle? |
