Whats Better? Raw D Value Or STR

Couple questions here, I hope I've laid out this post well enough to get some rough answers.



Someone told me that without CA, while casting using Quad. for an example:


(396+16+15+15+5+4+5 = 456)

is better than


(396+16+15+15+5 = 447)

Due to pushing the D cap higher with skill


So, (I'm assuming difference between mob VIT and my STR is uncapped (anything that matters this is the case? am I right? I have an Almace and if in aby I do not use VV typically) and my acc is capped)


Calculating D in the first set as (I kinda forget how the tiers come into play here and I have a feeling that's going to make a big difference, I'd love someone to enlighten me again on how the tiers work):

(Blue Magic Skill*0.11)*2 + 3

(396+16+15+15+5+4+5 = 456)
(456*0.11)*2 +3
=(50)*2 +3
=103

and the second set:

(396+16+15+15+5 = 447)
(447*0.11)*2 +3
=(49)*2 +3
=101

So it would be comparing 101D and 15STR versus 103D. Really seems like the STR would win.

Anyone care to push me in the right direction?

Edit: Fixed a few things to make more sense

You're losing out on 3.75 D from fSTR alone and another 2-3 D from WSC to get that skill tier, definitely not worth it. Looks like you understand how D from skill works just fine.
