Hey all, i see in charged whisker threads that people are doing WoR for upwards of 2k 0_o.

I don't really play my BLU inside as it really shines outside (Ashu Talif last night For auto attachments, my blu saved our *** many times.) But Even inside i don't do those kind of numbers.

According to wiki it's mods are: STR 30%; MND 30% So i generally just cast it in my STR build. But i'm worried i'm really underpar after seeing some peoples supposed numbers.

Also the last question, would a mp/m.acc Shamshir +2 be good for offhand? I thought so but i've heard of people calling these blades worthless. The mp is nice to an elvaan (which i am) and the m.acc is, well obvious. Yeah staffs are better but then i'm constantly losing TP and such.

Thanks in advance.

To answer your first question. Generally WoR is used with CA and Efflux, because when Whisker burning your not using them for self SCs.

As for the MACC swords. No. Never. Mp is never an issue inside nor outside abyssea. If your going to make Shamshirs make two STR ones to cap fSTR for the most optimal physical spell casting.

CA + Efflux WoR in a STR build should be doing 1.5-2k+ yes, even with non-STR atma. Macc Shamshirs suck.

Okay, cheers, oddly i never actually thought that they could be buffing it with CA/Eff. It's almost instinctive for me to use that with QC. Am i doing something wrong? I burn through my mp inside and outside incredibly quickly. Although inside all you have to do is not cast for a few minutes.

If you're using Charged Whisker to AoE kill mobs there's no point in pairing CA and Efflux with QC since it only hits one mob. If you're fighting mobs one by one, by all means pair them with QC.

The problem with relying on MP+ on your weapon to fix that problem isn't so much that you should never run out of MP (that's a hugely impractical statement; you shouldn't but depending on support and spell usage it may happen), but that you have enough refresh that it doesn't really have much of an impact overall, especially in longer fights.

Yeah, actually as it happens i built myself a charged whisker set got both the lightning + atmas and are yet to actually do a CW burn. I was just asking in general really, but reading through the CW threads i saw some numbers i didn't expect, but i didn't take CA/Efflux into consideration. Mine generally do 750~ outside abyssea.

And yeah i guess i'll build two STR swords, guess i just figured the m.acc swords wrong.

Thanks for all the replies..

Whisker burning doesn't really work outside of abyssea unless you intend to resleep and nuke several times similar to a blm Ga'ing things or have a number of blu's time nuking. The reason it works so well inside is because you can oneshot so many various types of mobs that it's very effective and can be done solo.

I never said i was burning? I merely used a CW thread as a reference for WoR numbers.

u shouldnt had any reason to worry about tp since ur blu burning. i usually duo with a friend blm or dnc/thf/nin. i always open with CA/Efflux>WoR>dream flower. if ur soloin its the same thing so u can put the weapon in macro (if u aint using windower). with baying moon/Beyond/MM (yea i kno no thunder atma i sux :P) my WoR do 1.3~3k

btw i go /rdm offhand genbu shield for eva/pdt n using that sword from the dragon in uleguerand till my almace is finish. aquaveil n phalanx really nice to have

Not sure why u are calling the Macc obvious. What spells would u need Macc for? CW should have Jupiter's Staff as main.
To me the ovious Shamshir are Str and damage redux.
Combined with Genbu's Shield and rings/neck I get about 35% damage redux, meaning I can tank/ mass pull.
The Str sword really IS obvious.
theonly one that might be in discussion is the dex sword, if you are main handing Almace.

Thought I'd bump instead of making new thread.

I'm going to be breaking Savage Blade and Expiacion here in the next few days. My question is can I SC light/darkness with a friend by closing with a spell and still get points on my swords?

Example:
Tachi: Gekko -> Vertical Cleave = Darkness
Tachi: Kasha -> Ram Charge = Light

Thanks!
