Patch 1.15a, which is set to go live Wednesday, February 2, will contain a number of changes in line with the wealth of player feedback we have continued to receive, such as the way in which skill and experience points are awarded based on party composition or enemy rank, and the addition of a number of new text commands.

Battle

Skill and Experience Point Awards
Several balancing changes will be made that will bring greater benefits than ever before to multi-player battle. Party bonuses will be adjusted to award larger amounts of skill and experience points based on party size. Further changes will also ensure that greater differences between player and enemy rank will yield greater rewards as well. The amount of skill and experience points available from enemies ranked lower than a player will be reduced, but defeating enemies ranked higher than oneself will now yield greater amounts.

For players engaging in solo battle, the amount of skill and experience points currently awarded after rank 20 falls off sharply. To address this, we will be implementing changes that will better balance the amount available between ranks 20 and 23.

3-D Battle Text
The placement of 3-D battle text, such as damage and healing values, will be adjusted to prevent the overlapping of separate numbers. In addition, battle text will be color-coded in the following manner.

Text Commands

/display head (subcommand on/off)
The /display head text command can be used to toggle the graphic display of a piece of equipment currently equipped in the head slot.

/display head on – Display head gear.
/display head off – Hide head gear.

* This command cannot be used while in active mode.

/clock
The /clock feature is being implemented to allow players to easily confirm the amount of time remaining until the reset of several in-game timers, such as the reissue of guildleves or the regeneration of anima.

Use of this command will display the current time (Earth time), together with the following information.

Time remaining until guildleve reissue
Time remaining until anima regeneration
Time remaining until next behest

For solo players going after EM or less then probably. But the upshot may be that it's possible to party on Cobs/Dobs without someone 10 ranks higher than the mobs running round sweeping the area clean.

The real hope here is that all areas with a large number of mobs will now be party spots and that cobs/dobs will be gimp.

There are a lot of great areas that would be viable camps on mobs such as crabs, goats, hogs, etc.

Raptors might even be better SP now and be the get 50 mob to party grind (instead of doblyn solo/duo for 20 hours).

Seems like everyone is getting TONS of SP now.

I see it already, a party of 5 and 10 more afk on follow killing raptors for 300-400SP/kill.

Rank versus mobs makes a HUGE difference now.

Also, crafting got boosted in the same regards. People getting over 600SP per synth on ones they'd get 300 on before.

I haven't done much fighting today myself, but it's good to hear that the SP balancing is a positive change. The new combat pop-up text and map features look really nice too.

This is all definitely a step in the right direction, but let's hope the next update brings some new content in addition to the aesthetic tweaks.

Try leves now. They're really ridicolous when everyone is between 5 ranks. You can get 600-1000 SP per local craft when it's higher then you lol.

I got 630 sp killing a red non-leve dodo on tha12.

Saw someone post a single kill on a leve giving 1621 sp over on Zam.

To be honest I don't mind. People might say it devalues getting to R50, but to be fair, alot of people got that rank prior to the SP nerf when it switched to new "sp at the end of the fight" model last November.

I see no problem with this, especially seeing as levelling up multiple jobs is such a good idea. Also the fact that we'll eventually be hitting rank 75 most likely.

Me rank 20 pug.
Friend rank 50 conj.

Friend kills 1 mob in 5 seconds.
Me 300 SP.
Friend 0.

Everybody will hit 50 that way or just spamming the 1 key.

They will hit rank 50 and they won't even know their class, plus there's no content for the flood of people who will hit 50 in a week from now.

Did we ask for something easier and lamer than wow to rank up? Also, paradise for the RMT...

I'm tired of people saying that there isn't any content. Go kill NMs. Once you kill all of them and have gotten drops for everyone in your LS, THEN complain about no content.

Your highest job is r11. There is plenty of content 20+, you just haven't see it yet because you are nowhere near the right level. That's like going into FFXI and saying that there is no content...yet your highest is level 11. Honestly, imo, you have no right to complain about anything.

Dubont has a point. If your highest job is rank 11 and you are complaining about the game, you're just a troll.

Leves being the content? Storyline quests aren't exactly content either.

The game was released and people got pissed because they rushed it.

People are now pissed because they AREN'T rushing it.

You people just can't be pleased...Again, go kill every NM and get every drop for your LS then complain.

I wouldn't call the occasional boring, sloppily thrown together quest "plenty of 20+ content" (the cutscenes are great, though, but everything else needs a ton of work).

Other than those, what else can you do before 50?
