Stepmania

Does anybody play this game? I recently uploaded some new videos of me playing it and i'm curious if there are people who play it here. :)

I play DDR/SM, I'm not that awesome cause getting exhausted too quickly, passing 8~9 footers (with my feets and metal dance mat).

I play on both pad and keyboard. I really like playing keyboard because I like the charts because they are both fun and some are hard too. Same with pad! This game is fun. I just wish there were more people who played it. :)

When you say pad you mean controller ? Or dance mat ? Cause pad/keyboard are both bad for SM :D

I tried IIDX but I liked SM better. :)

I use to play SM before I got DDR for PS2, so just use that with pad. Heh. Not very good but it's hella fun. xD

wow, it's like DDR without all the things that make it good, ie: public humiliation and working up a sweat.

Pretty much any arcade you go to here in Melbourne, and moreso when I was in Sydney, it'll be full of Japanese playing DDR (as well as the drum and guitar machines). Obviously they're not as fast as that, but they're a looooot better than me, I can't even follow all the moves with my eyes let alone trying to hit them with my feet/fingers/drum sticks when they're that fast. (they also get a lot more practice than me)

I wana try this >.< where can i find it =P i didnt see it in the local game stop, when i 1st saw it on You tube, i thought it was all pc edited *I don't think i'll ever be that good on some of thease super fast songs lol <3'd DDRX2

Aye, it's obvious from those vids that the songs aren't straight ripped from the arcade version... I think that would be impossible, especially since I saw 3 at once a few times (go go tripod)

Well cannot really compare IIDX and SM :d But when playing with your hands, IIDX is the way to go. 4 keys with hands makes SM too easy, also the timing window is really larger on SM than on IIDX.



On keyboard edit songs yeah, but that will be at least 13+ footers, otherwise it's really cheap compared to games made for hands :d Should keep DDR for feets, IIDX/PnM for hands. (Or DJ Max).

SM with hands is like playing Donkey Konga and saying you own it kinda ; ;

Boom Boom Rocket is another game like these that's really fun. It's an XBL Arcade game by Bizarre Creations ( Geometry Wars, PGR, etc. ). Originally you could only play in with the controller but they added dance pad and instrument support not too long ago.

you can get pretty much every stepmania song ever made along with the app from torrent sites. i used to hook up a pad to my computer once upon a time. that was when i wasn't lazy and played FF full time... before FF, DDR was my game, lol. I eventually got to the point where i could play MAX300 (with bar support). and now... I get worn out from doing a couple of 7 footer songs...
