Even though you'll no longer need them once you get your Ebisu, these are automatically the single greatest QoL improvement Fishing has ever received. Not just because they save you tons of money you'd otherwise spend on Ancient Lumber to fix your Lu every few Gugs or Liks, either. I mean, a piece of non-enchantment, non-skill+ Fishing gear whose effect ACTUALLY works? Incredible!
