Nope! Beats Dorje when magic critical hit procs though. Even then, doesn't (and won't) compare to HQ staves/magian magic damage+ staves.

Overall, this weapon isn't useful (Town gear, if that). I'll go into detail for the BLMs who want to think this is good:

Magic critical damage by default is MAB+10. It's uncertain as to how much this boosts it to, however.

Giving up a lot of damage in the first place for a magic critical hit weapon isn't a good idea, and the difference between this and a magic damage+5 staff is rather large, magic crit or not.

For this to be even remotely practical in the long run (being that it's magic critical hits it pretty much can't be practical in the short term) the magic critical hit damage bonus would have to be on the order of +1,500%. Given that it's probably +10% at best that pulls your magic criticals up to a whopping +11 MAB, or +11.5 MAB with Goetia gloves +2. which will activate 18% of the time with this and gear you actually should be wearing to average out to a bonus of +2.07MAB.

Translation: this scythe, like all BLM scythes, is for town gear/ pretending to be a severely handicapped DRK.

Garbage weapon. Enjoy it for what it is, A fun toy, Feel pretty in it, Role-play as a Arc Angel, etc, But please don't advocate using this to any new, aspiring BLMs.

New BLMs, Please don't use this. Have pride in your job, Work on Magian Staves.

Lots of BLMs trying to use this:
This Scythe is going to lower your DPS per nukes to the point where the crits are not going to make up for the loss. ToM staves puke buckets all over this thing.

Don't hate on this. Personally I just want a scythe for town gear so I can feel like AA Taru. Would I ever use it? Nah. But damn it would be fun.
