The absorbs damage is quite low, roughly 5% if I had to guess. That being said, there's a lack of MDB/MDT pieces in Ammo slot, so the lightning resist alone still makes this worth using, even if you don't absorb.

Also a great piece for PLD to use when facing something that has lightning tied to almost all their attacks.

Full Creed +2 with this, Atma of the Lion, Atma of Aquatic Ardor and Atma of the Savior.

That being, for outside abyssea, it's exactly as Khimaira says. Elemental resist in the ammo slot is a nice thing to have.
