I'm DRG and with this, coupled with Hydra Mail+1, Jelly ring & Askar Feet, you're looking at -21% Physical damage. That along with the cures you'd be getting from your Wyvern (CureIV for like 7MP, if you've a Wyrm Armet) could make you a good make-shift tank. I mean your not going to be a tank per se, but if you need to be in an emergency (Assult runs or such like) You'd be able to handle the pressure a little better. Just need to buff enimity everywhere else. If your lucky enough to have people in game back that up & you can get hands on a Aegishjalmr or Bahamut's mask, you'd be able to keep mobs on you quite well. Looking forward to finding out how you get it :D
Its even got the lowest delay you can get on a Polearm & a very good DMG output compared to others of similar delay.
Maybe this is what SE meant when they said they weren't releasing new tanks. They were simply increasing the abilities of the jobs already in game.
6th best DPS available for Polearms, even greater DPS then mezraq and you shouldnt have Problöems to hit the mobs when soloing, so there will be no need for Mezraq when soloing Exp.
Another Awesome thing is the DMG reduction.
In my opninion the Best Solo Weapon 71+ for DRG you can get and its easy to obtain
Like Sturyko says, it's got the lowest delay with a great dps. The dps is even better than the Mezraq favored by many DRG's!
But don't just think physical reduction...think speed! I am working on the Homam set myself.
-That'll give you 12% haste,
-add a swift belt and you'll have 16% haste,
-sub samurai and use hasso and that'll be 26% haste (10% haste on hasso at all levels according to ffxiclopedia, but even if it's just 5% it's still good).
-On top of that this lance has the shortest delay with an amazing dps, so you'll be swinging your lance quite often which is good when you have items that boost your double attack like brutal earring, pole strap and homam body (triple attack).
I just cant take the -23 DMG hit to go form mez to this. mez is 11.34 and this being 11.51. You really miss the DMG when you WS. I'll go with mez even for soloing.
On a side note that -DMG % for PLD is kinda nice.
seems like a great weapon for any solo drg. the -10% dmg makes them far less squishy, the +10mp is an extra 1-2 cures, depending on sub/spell used to trigger healing breath.
