Definitely an improvement over the Gluttony. Yes, you lose VIT but you gain more Emnity and the DPS is better as well as a lower delay and attack +11. DMG+Enmity=better hate build.

Off topic but still on topic, for those interested in the history. Summary from Wikipedia: the Macuahuitl(prounced mah-kwah-weetl) is actually a real weapon derived from the Aztec or Mesoamerican cultures. It is a weapon made out of wood that is sharpened enough to still be dangerous. The sides are often embedded with obsidian rocks found from volcanoes.

This is your best bet as 65PLD due to the fact that your VIT is probably pretty high due to gear and food anyway. Plus, if you're still using a High Breath Mantle (which I am, as Tarutaru Paladin it's pretty necessary) this could make room for that Knightly Mantle and the VIT almost balances out. Gluttony Sword is not the end-all be-all.

'Mxcnlink' says:

"Not a good item for exp. tanking though, maybe for soloing."

Dude, no, It's perfect for tanking, why would you need Enmity+4 soloing? To protect the little birdy that told you that? >< Don't want to say anything more without sounding like a complete ***.

I don\'t know what he\'s talking about. +4 Emnity is fantastic! Pld is NOT a DD and should not be looked at as a job that will do dmg in a pt. Vit is very important, but at 65 when Mnk is doing so much dmg, you need all the emnity you can get to keep hate. Oh yeah, and what do you need emnity for when soloing? Use a Company Sword or Joyeuse when soloing

This is a godly sword for a pld before Joytoy.

VIT is a dead stat in exp after 55. Shield mastery, Defense Update III, and weak hitting TOAU mobs result in VIT/DEF heavy builds being redundent in exp.

Enemity + ATK in 1 slot is amazing. Hell even if you don't want to go DD the Enmity alone combined with a Wivre Shield, AF, and high-breath mantle will keep the mob glued to you.

PLD is now a hybrid DD/tank job like NIN. Want the most invites or want to merit then you need to adapt to suit what pt leaders want.

When I first saw this weapon, my eyes lit up. I knew it was a gem for any tanking PLD, and as an Elvaan especially, who needs VIT? I don't even have a Gluttony Sword or Knightly Mantle, and my standard build puts me well over 90. The +12 Enmity between this sword and AFs is amazingly useful in XP parties. Even the Durandal is outdated by this sword.

All I have left to say is... I'm glad I'm not on Ragnarok.

One of the better tanking weapons no doubt. Hard to beat the +4 Enmity. The downside? It has to be the single ugliest sword in the entire game XD

Draginhikari "It has to be the single ugliest sword in the entire game XD" I'd have to disagree the look is brutal and wild like Mamools that use it. But over all this is a perfect tanking weapon if you don't have hauteclaire.

Paladins in the mid 60s are more than likely tanking birds. Colibri have Snatch Morsel and naturally high evasion. Paladins won’t be eating which means theoretically, they should be keeping more defense. A paladin with high defense usually sacrifices accuracy and attack; especially if they keep Defender activated. Attack+11 is a lot for a one-handed weapon, but it seems to be too little too late once accuracy and already low attack are factored in.

The low delay isn’t anything to complain about. Again given low total attack and accuracy I don’t feel it makes too much of a difference.

The dps is indeed higher than the Glut. Sword you’re probably replacing, but if that’s the only reason why you’re replacing it, wait one more level and buy a N.Q. Espadon for 90% less.

The enmity is great. Since you won’t be hitting that often with any weapon (against birds anyway), you might as well use it for the effect enmity has on everything else you do as a tank.
I feel that
