Requires 500 Weapon Skill Points in order to activate the latent effect. Same with the other R/E weapons from KSNMs that have a similar effect.

1 weapon skill point for a solo WS, or opening any SC
2 points for closing a Level 1 SC (Impaction, Liquefaction, Transfixion, Detonation, Scission, Reverberation, Compression, Induration)
3 points for closing a Level 2 SC (Fusion, Fragmentation, Gravitation, Distortion)
5 points for closing a Level 3 SC (Darkness, Light)

These have been proven to be nearly as good as Spharai, number-wise. Definitely hands-to-hands down (haha) the reference standard for endgame MNK weapons.

Unless MNK is your first 75 job (in that case stick with Wagh Baghnakhs all the way to 75, then focus on finding people to help you get these), there's no excuse for not having them.

While other DD jobs have to spend tons of gils for the best non-relic weapon, MNK's best non-relic weapon (humm well ok let's assume Shenlongs don't exist yet :-) ) is rare/ex and quite simple to get. The easiest KSNM to get these is by far Double Dragonian, which requires a decent skilled party, while Copycat and Royale Ramble are tricky and should be handled with a well skilled party only.

Your best bet to gain the WS points would be to team up with a SAM, Tachi: Gekko --> Asuran Fists does Darkness SC and grants 5 WS points. Otherwise you can also activate the latent effect when soloing or leveling your NPC fellow if you feel patient. Just remember WS points are only earned on mobs that con EP or higher.

Final note : Don't do your WS points in xp pt, that would be really rude and selfish

Just wanted to confirm, the latent can be broken while being used under the effect of "Level Sync". The same goes for any of the KSNM weapons.
