While Uggalepih Pendant provides higher MAB, keep in mind that it's only while your MP is in the latent range. Caract Choker is always active, so you can use this when latent isn't active.

Actually getting the Brown Casket to drop and then open it are another story indeed. Looks like a solid piece like Azulmagia stated but you might be better served investing your time trying to augment a Philomath Stole stole.
