Mainly for NIN (no eva- like Ochuido Kote), not that it means that Okote really hurts tanking, but 5 attack doesnt make a huge impact on melee damage, either.
Can pretty much use them up until 72 on NIN (Dusk Gloves after that). Considering the stable price and at least 38 levels of use, this is a great investment.
MNK and SAM are probably still better off with Ochiudo Kote though (or of course the r/e version). If you are also lving NIN at the time, it wont hurt to just stick to H.Kote though.
I disagree with cyprias, as the -5 eva will always be -2.5% evasion rate for a NIN, but the -5 attk from these will be less % lost from DoT the higher your attack climbs as you level and get better gear in other slots.
If you need that 2.5% Evasion gain from Horomusha kotes, you seriously need to rethink why you're playing NIN. That attack +5 does increase your DoT, and helps you hold hate better, resulting an overall increase in better tanking. And by the time you reach ToAU areas, you want all the hate you can get, especially when you get Haubergeon going.
we cant wear the Tarasque Mitts till level 70....i still use my Kote... but only for weapon skill damage... Kote = more damage/same defense as mitts(accept the +1mitts)...if u wanna wait till lvl 70, go for it...but if u can afford it, get kote.
Okote over this anyday. Why anyone would pay 300k + for these when they can camp the rare/ex Okote which are overall better is just stupid. -5 EVA helps with countering, especially as MNK, and that's +5 ATK. It may not seem like a lot when you eyeball it, but that damage over time will certainly add up if you parse it in an exp party.
Please don't be gimp by wearing this inferior hand peice. Get Okote as anyone with common sense and knows what they're doing will tell you. Farm the gil for them or camp the NM. These gloves will easily last you till endgame, especially for MNK.
