Actually Datruthuhate, unless I did that math wrong, a SMN with max MAB gear (counting augments, Nirvana) 300% TP and MB can break 3k dmg. I've never seen a BLM break 3k, but I'm not a BLM.
Granted this is 1 attack and DoT wont beat BLM but you're statement is still stupid since every job should aim to max every useful thing they have. So saying this is worthless to a SMN when it's the best magic damage neck piece they have is like saying BLM shouldn't own HQ elemental staves cause NQ exist.

I don't see why it is such a bad thing when people decide to spend their gill ~ Making gill right now is kind of hard things that used to sell for millions are very quickly going down in price.
Smn may never be able to outdmg a blm with MAB then again if a blm ever nuked as hard aa a smn right off the bat he would get eaten by the mob, at least in endgame where the smn would just release his avatar, can't wait to get this piece.
