Activates when taken damage - through my testing DoT does not work (poison potion used) and it can still activate when you take 0 damage (stoneskin used)
Honestly, the chance of activation seems to be really low. In testing I have found that it is more likely you will die before flee procs. Hence the price dive and minimal sales.
