If not display, do you wish you could hide stars on everyone else as well? I don't think I have an opinion either way, on stars.
But on this subject is there an easier way to see what master level Someone is, I look at the party list, I think and math the subjob... There has to be some easier way that I am just oblivious to Offline
I like the stars.
I hate ppl want control other ppl like this
YouTube Video Placeholder I like the stars, but I turn them off because I am a scrub at heart. Offline

I think at first, it was meant to highlight a "master" but with how many bot, it's as meaningful as getting Adamantoise title today.

Not only do I not show them, but I run the nameless lua so I don't even see my name on the screen.
Look at jinsx mouth is always open, it's like the stars you can't close it He's always asking xD
Personally, i couldnt care less of switching on and off the stars.
But i think the gap between a mastered job with a non-mastered job is relevant enough so anyone that you party with must be aware of. So, by the end of the day, having stars shows that you have the minimum pre req to tackle content like Odyssey and Sortie, while if you dont have it mastered, maybe change your job for something that is mastered, or that you dont need the extra stats master provides. Hiding it just because some silly reason like to troll others, to see their reaction to you supposed gimp job when joining is just… silly. Hardly can you trust people when someone purposelly hide information. But i guess, stars are like lockstyle. If you feel like not using it, its your sense of style, at least i feel like its a more acceptable reason to hide it that the one above. Offline

That could be their reason... might not be. Some people simply may not want them. All group members are invited. If someone mastering their job is that important, ask if they are. If you don't trust them, don't invite them. Pantafernando said: » Hardly can you trust people when someone purposelly hide information. That's not true at all. Some people just like their privacy. That's like saying you can't trust someone who locks their doors. Just because I don't feel like sharing some of my information with others doesn't automatically make me shady. This was something that was said a lot back in the 75 era for people who went /anon. "They're shady, they're hiding something". I went /anon so I wouldn't get asked to exp, even without seeking any time I job-changed to Bard. Bismarck.Josiahflaming

I turned mine off after getting them, since the design was pretty ugly.
But since I had an afterglow weapon on most the time it was likely pretty obvious I was a nerd for the game Asura.Aragan said: » Look at jinsx mouth is always open, it's like the stars you can't close it He's always asking xD What's wrong with asking? Shame on those that don't ask questions. And you could at least spell my name right. kuroki said: » press the change window button I am assuming change window on an examine screen? I never cared enough to turn it off, but it's kind of irrelevant. 2100 JP was sort of an accomplishment when it was introduced, but now having a visible flair on your character for what amounts to 8-10 hours of farming trash mobs is kind of tacky. They should have had more foresight and started subtler, so they could add something really snazzy for ML50.
Suppose now that I've been forced to think about it, I'll turn it off. Would be pretty easy to hide it for everyone with an addon, if so inclined. In party menu or /search menu, if you hit the button (+ is default) it will show you their ML instead of their level. That's all. I keep them off. I find it distracting to my gameplay. If someone doesn’t want me in a party because they think I don’t have 2100 JP then that’s on them for not checking my subjob.
As far as other people? Well, everyone should do what they like. They should give everyone 20 stars each and make it so nobody can remove them, not even by addons. That will be fun.
I like them, we need new ones for master levels. Maybe a different color, but then it wouldnt be like the FF3 ones

That said, if you just got yours recently? It's something to be proud of for sure. Great job, champ! Dodik said: » What do people think on this subject. Display or not display master stars.
