Anyone know a way to do this? I remember on my old laptop my f 1-6 was used to toggle through party members etc but that doesn't happen on my new laptop. It's getting really frustrating playing mage jobs.

Either keyboard settings in config. Or most likely your f1-12 keys are bound elsewhere by the laptop. Do you normally have to use fn to use the F1-12 normal functions rather than the added functions? If so, there is probably a key combination to keep fn turned on. That's how my work laptop works.
