Just for the Dr Who fans.

Anyone who saw last nights episode may be asking, who the hell is this new doctor?
The fact that the Doctor knows who he is, and that he isn't the "doctor", tells us that he betrayed what it means to be the doctor. He failed to save everybody, and he failed to keep the secret behind the name of the doctor, so he had to effectively delete himself from history. The only record of him seem to be within the TARDIS (the time war book that Clara reads in the episode where they go into the TARDIS, but she doesn't have time to read it) and within the memory of the doctor himself.

It has to be kept a secret, as revealing it may reveal who the doctor really is, and what he had to do to save everything .. in the time war. It is speculated that this doctor may be the secret "ninth" doctor, the one after Paul McGann and before Christopher Ecclestone. When they brought it back as a tv series, the time war had already happened, and no real explanation has ever been given, except that The Doctor somehow time locked the entire event, meaning he could never return home.

The Ecclestone character himself can be rather depressing sometimes, and this is down to the secret he has had to carry around. Possibly the new doctor had to reveal his true identity to save earth from being time locked in the time war, which would explain why he said it was absolutely necessary. The Doctor has been known to do just about anything to save earth, and by revealing his name, well its hard to say what harm it can do, but surely there is an extremely big reason why he has to stay a mystery, and it may mean the end of him if it was to be let out, so he had to effectively time lock that version of the Doctor.

This would make sense because Clara doesn't know who he is, despite seeing all of them, because his journey as that particular doctor was taken out.

Alternatively, it is hard to believe this doctor may be the last, because then how would the current doctor know who he is?? He looks at him in disgust, like he resembles the darkest days of his life.

We have not seen those Super Daleks in a long time, are they behind all of this? Are they attempting to unlock the time war by revealing what the doctor did to lock it in the first place?

And what about the Valeyard that was mentioned? The valeyard has appeared in past Dr Who and is described as an amalgamation of the Doctor from between his twelfth and final incarnations.

If this John Hurt Doctor is the ninth, then that makes Matt Smith the 12th, and we may see the beginning of the Valeyard.
